Guest Lily4
My son is about to complete Saxon Algebra 1. Should I move on to Saxon Geometry or Algebra 2?
Ethel Mertz
The usual progression is Algebra 1, Geometry, and then Algebra 2.
coffeegal
Which edition? The older editions (1st -3rd, I think) integrate geometry. If you're using an older edition the progression is algebra 1, algebra 2, then advanced math. The new edition separates geometry, so the sequence is algebra, geometry, and algebra 2. Reefgazer
It depends on what edition of Saxon you are using, If you are using the integrated Algebra I (3rd edition), you would move onto Algebra II (3rd addition), followed by the 2nd edition of Advanced Mathematics. If you are using the 4th edition, then Algebra I is generally followed by Geometry. son is about to complete Saxon Algebra 1. Should I move on to Saxon Geometry or Algebra 2? MarkT
Even with the older 3rd editions you could use the newer Saxon Geometry for a more complete Geometry course especially if you plan to move on to another publisher for Precalculus. You may want to look at the lessons covered in Saxon Geometry. It is similar in style to the 3rd editions but some folks do not like it. My son's B&M charter school used it. I thought it was good in topic coverage.
FriedClams
We've done Algebra 1 to 2 and then Advanced Math. I'm pleased with the progression.
