learntosoar
Does anyone have any experience using the Jolly Phonics program? How does it compare to other phonics/ early reading programs?
Arctic Bunny
My boys both used it in ps in kindergarten and grade one. I really liked it, and found the coordinating printing/motor skills books to do at home with them. I think that it really puts into practice the idea of gross motor movements cementing the concept of the sound.
Sally Day
We used the 'Jolly Stories' book to teach the boys the letter sounds. We then switched to a non-phonic program but I think it really helped them to fly with that. I found the characters and stories really weak but the boys loved them so job done! Ausmumof3
I used the workbooks briefly with the kids to work on sounds and for daily writing practise. They were simple and fun to use but I used it with other resources so I'm not sure how much of ds reading ability came from them and not other things. marylandhsmom
My girls LOVEd the songs and books! I found the lack of daily guidance to be difficult for a then, new HS mom, so I left it for a more traditional program. But it was GREAT while we used it! lauranc
My daughter loved this program and it was key to her learning to read. The program really resonated with her.
