FaithManor
I need ideas. We watched Age of Ultron last night. Would love to stream Ant Man but Amazon doesn't have it available yet. When I suggested Transformers I was given looks, and these were not good looks! LOL We aren't horror film people. Alien, they have watched the alien movies, but BLECH! THE MOTHER IS NOT WATCHING ALIEN TONIGHT! So, if you were me, what would you be watching?
AK_Mom4
GhostBusters! The old star wars movies (the first three made)
chiguirre
How about going with some really good, old movies? Something like The Sixth Sense or Silence of the Lambs if they haven't seen them.
FaithManor
Hadn't thought about Silence of the Lambs, would probably creep me out too much, LOL. But, it occurred to me that they probably haven't seen the old Jeff Goldblum "The Fly" which could be cool. Our basic rule is no nudity, no graphic sex. So I think that one would work. Keep the ideas coming though. I have to choose from whatever is available for streaming on Amazon or Netflix - we don't mind renting from Amazon. We haven't had a fun night like this in a really long time, and with everything that has transpired with my parents, I think my boys need to have their friends over and have a really good time. Candy, ice cream, pop corn, lemonade, apple cider, donuts, nachos, and to appease my mind, salads. :D

Pink and Green Mom
The Shining That is a good one. I watched part of it on TV a few weeks ago and felt so unsettled through the whole thing (if that is what you are looking for, LOL).
Stacia
You've gotten some good suggestions. I'd second Ghostbusters, The Shining, The Sixth Sense, Signs, & The Village. Boo!

The unsettled feeling sticks with you, too. Much more than a slasher film.
unsinkable
Another truly scary film... It Follows It is creepy, startling scary. My son dragged me to it and I hid under my coat for much of it. I texted DH (under my coat) and told I loved him bc I was going to die of heart failure. I didn't want to drive home. Additionally, it's filmed in Detroit and the blight and decay is its own horror. Oh, I didn't originally see the no nudity, no sex. Yeah, skip this then. But for others for whom it is OK, it is a great scary movie. Jenny in Florida
My 17-year-old son agrees these might be goid options: Hellboy Gremlins The Lost Boys Underworld Scream (although none of us remember whether there is any nudity or sexual content)

I haven't seen it since junior high, though! I like the early M. Night Shyamalan movies--The Sixth Sense, The Village, and Signs. Unbreakable was okay, too. Boys would probably like it. Hope you have fun!

mommymilkies
That is a good one. I watched part of it on TV a few weeks ago and felt so unsettled through the whole thing (if that is what you are looking for, LOL). There is one very sexual scene in it, if you mind that. We watch the usual Shyamalan movies, Lost Boys, World War Z, Edward Scissorhands, everything Tim Burton including Sleepy Hollow. For this year we also have The Exorcist, Blair Witch Project, and Children of the Corn. Here are some more ideas. Asterisks mean on Netflix or Prime. Note-what you are ok with as a parent might differ. My dh vetoed Nightmare on Elm Street and The Shining. The red ones are ones I usually ok for younger kids that are ok with horror/gore/creepy stuff. Sixth Sense* The Village* Halloween Nightmare on Elm Street Friday the 13th Mimic Candyman Children of the Corn* Firestarter Poltergeist Sleepy Hollow* The Relic Supernatural (episodes)* The Shining Prophecy* Child’s Play Gremlins* Cat’s Eye Walking Dead* Z Nation * Scream * X-Files* The Crow* The Others Silence of the Lambs* Interview With A Vampire Carrie IT House on Haunted Hill Wes Craven New Nightmare* The Ring Final Destination I know what you did last summer Corpse Bride Nightmare Before Christmas Hocus Pocus Edward Scissorhands The Awakening World War Z (Teens, adult) Lost Boys Blair Witch Project

Joules
It's not a movie, but dh and I have just started the series iZombie on Netflix and are really liking it. It's done by Rob Thomas and has a similar feel to Veronica Mars (except with zombies!) Ds18 has watched the whole first season already. FaithManor
Okay, so the teens are all assembled and have made these choices, rather an eclectic list, but it seems to meet everyone's wishes. Currently watching Harry Potter 2 The others are Sixth Sense, Ghostbusters, and Signs. Thanks everyone! You guys put together a great, great list. I'm saving these suggestions for next year.

Lara in Colo
My all time favorite "horror" movie is House. about a house that steal the guys child. Not too scary, funny at times-- language issues though. I recently let the children watch Arachnophobia -- big hit here with my horror loving children

Lori D.
For next year's list: Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1955) Godzilla (2014) Warm Bodies -- great for a mix of teen boys and girls (a zombie love story, with humor, plus evil skeleton zombies) Shaun of the Dead -- humorous zombie movie (a fair bit of 4-letter words, but no s*x) The World's End -- sort of a pod-people movie with humor (a fair bit of 4-letter words, but no s*x)
