Do you have a good recipe for a flavored popcorn?

I'm thinking of trying some different stove-top popcorn variations for holiday get-togethers; maybe at least some will be healthier than the traditional plate of cookies or pies! All I've ever done before is just the basic: thin coat of oil or coconut oil on bottom of pan, yellow or white popcorn kernels, a little salt after it's popped (we did melted butter on top when we were kids but I skip that these days and don't miss it). I'm definitely going to try kettle corn and caramel corn. Any recipes for those or any other fun variety? Savory varieties? Thanks.

We eat a ton of popcorn around here. Our favorites are:

butter (or ghee), nutritional yeast, and sometimes garlic

honey and butter  http://www.thefamilyhomestead.com/sweetreatpopcorn.htm

Taco flavors, pretty much the same as Laurie4b but we like oregano and smoked paprika in there too

ETA: I have a popcorn recipe book with lots of great recipes to try when we're bored or just feeling adventurous. It's been fun to have as a resource.

okay, don't hate me...but....

The best popcorn I EVER had was when I mixed in a bit of bacon drippings with the melted butter and then...some maple syrup. Poured it over the top and WOW. So freaking good. I've never made it again because I don't trust myself not to just keep eating and die :)

We add M&Ms to our popcorn.  The minis are nice.  Christmas colored ones give that holiday look. :)

For a savory option, try Ranch dressing mix. (Powdered Hidden Valley stuff.)  I think you'll need butter or oil, though, to make it stick.  I seem to remember seeing a shaker bottle of it at Sam's or Costco.

We got this one from the Spongebob cookbook, and one of my daughters and I can't get enough of it!  (The rest of the family is boring.)

Combine 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 teaspoon sweet smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/4 teaspoon each garlic powder and pepper.  Toss with freshly buttered popcorn.

I'd like to try this. Thanks!
