Forgive me if this is considered political... ;)

And is it wrong that I'm kinda, sorta secretly proud in a weird Canadian way that our new prime minister elect is being considered the world's sexiest politician? ;) :D

http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/justin-trudeau-is-seen-by-non-canadians-as-attractive-1.3279862

Scroll down and check out his boxing pose picture.  Yes - that's a legit picture.  Yes - that's our new prime minister. :)  No - I'm not normally into objectifying anyone's looks but he did pose for that knowing full well the impression it would make on females and/or those attracted to a buff male physique. :D

I won't discuss policy or anything else of that ilk 'cause that would be political. :)

I'm not overly impressed. The politics overshadow the abs and guns for moi!

:D  I certainly hope no one voted based on a candidate's abs or lack thereof! ;)  I didn't want to discuss politics, though, because then we'd get in trouble from mom (aka SWB). :)  I figured this topic was silly enough to make it past the gate. ;)

Forget politics! You are missing the most important question of all: How does he look in a kilt? ;)

You know, I'm sure people think they don't, and didn't.  But study after study has shown how much people are subconsciously affected by a person's appearance.  It's very real.

I'm positive that's the only way we ended up with Sarah Palin, and I'm a republican! It makes a huge difference subconsciously, especially with less politically involved voters. The less real data on the politician, the more of an effect their appearance has on the voting on an individual basis.

I think anyone who voted for him based upon his "being sexy' - - - isn't mature enough to vote.

PM is a grown up job - and talking about "sexiness" (which has ZIP affect on the job) sounds so teenagerish.

eta: I've seen the headlines - and just smh.

Ask and ye shall receive. :D

Scroll down for the one of Trudeau.  It was taken in 2011.  Not sure if I like the beard, though...

Agree absolutely. :)

Agreed. :)  This was more a piece of silliness than a serious commentary on politics. :)

Hmm...Guess I should be careful what I ask for in future!

Actually, I really like the tartan tights in the photo just above him. Not sure I would wear them, but I love the idea.

Huh.  I didn't expect to see the thread get a one-star rating.  Ah well. :)  I suppose if the topic is considered truly offensive, I can ask for the thread to be removed.  The whole thing amused me, frankly.  How often does one encounter the word "sexy" in the same sentence as the word "Canada"? ;) :)

Yeah, maybe you should shut it down. I wrote a whole post, but deleted it. Suffice it to say, there is a large area (sadly not population) that does not think it's a laughing matter, although it most definitely is a joke.

My apologies.  I wasn't advocating for or against the new prime minister elect and his party - really I wasn't!  Again - I just thought the whole thing was amusing.  I honestly didn't mean for it to be offensive.

Would you prefer that I ask for it to be locked or deleted completely?

It's a free country :) It's very raw here. I seriously thought the stress of the election results was going to cause DH to have a heart attack. Seriously. He is afraid of losing his ability to hunt, to target shoot, to enjoy his hobby. He is afraid that the budget for his line of work will be decimated even more, putting his life, and those of his coworkers, in more jeopardy. Like I said, it's very raw, and nobody is joking around here. I've said my piece, and I will bow out now.

There's always going to be some one who is upset by something.  Nothing wrong with that but it shouldn't keep others from talking about it in the way they chose, especially since it's not meant to be political.  In fact who has politicized this thread are those who are against the particular PM because of his particular politics.  If we stick to the parameters of the OP we are here only to judge his attractiveness and gauge whether Diacentra is weird because she's proud that her PM is considered sexy.

I feel badly that the election has caused you and your family so much personal stress.  And I am sorry if my thread increased that stress.  My sole intent was to amuse. :)

:D  I think the judgement of whether or not I am weird for any number of reasons has long since been made.  That ship sailed a loooooooooooong time ago. ;)

Whew! Good to know I'm not alone in my weirdness. ;) :D

So, you know how sometimes at a glance you mis-read text, then immediately correct yourself?

Well, for half a second there I was sure that you had said, "Whew! Good to know I'm not alone in my lewdness. ;) :D "

:D  I've not often had that said of me.  Maybe this thread is changing the Hive's opinion of me, though... ;)
