marbel
S'mores candy corn? No no no no no! I love candy corn. I'm going out to buy some today. Brach's classic candy corn. Not only is it delicious but it makes me think of my mom. It was her favorite candy. She would be appalled at candy corn flavored as anything other than candy corn. WTH? (Actually the WTH would be from my dad, who didn't care about candy corn but would still be appalled because he was just like that, and WTH was his favorite expression.) ETA: And pumpkin spice peeps. Gah!

kewb
Candy corn is awful. I do not understand why my ds loves it so much. Worst halloween candy ever. I can't imagine flavors will improve it any.

tm919
I love candy corn even though (because?) it tastes like wax. Don't replace my wax flavor!
EmseB
I agree with the OP, there really is only one right way to enjoy candy corn. Step One: Throw candy corn in the trash.

redsquirrel
Even when I was a small child, I couldn't put that stuff in my mouth. I think it is horrible. I am so glad my kids agree with me.
Amy in NH
We decided to try the "peanut butter cup candy corn", and it was horrible. It tasted like coffee liqueur. We bought it, opened it in the car, each tried one, and I marched back into the store with it and returned it at the service desk. I told the customer service rep that I didn't care if they gave me my money back, but they could have their awful "candy corn".
alisoncooks
We've already eaten a bag of candy corn this year. Might go through another before it's all said and done. And I'm eyeballing that blondie recipe linked upthread....sounds promising.
Mommy22alyns
I do not want to hear about candy corn because I am trying to re-lose the pounds that magically hopped back onto my body after slacking all through fall and winter last year! umsami
I could take or leave candy corn growing up, but DS2 loves it with all his heart. His favorite is the Autumn mix that has the normal candy corn, the chocolate candy corn, and the pumpkins. We love to save some candy corn and use it to make melted snowman hot chocolate. Make hot chocolate, put a layer of whipped cream on top, add in two chocolate chips (or M&Ms) for the eyes, and a piece of Candy Corn for the nose. If you have space (and works if you used mini chocolate chips) add in a mouth too. :)
Tanaqui
Tangentially related, why don't you all read this article on the history of candy corn? Some of that information was surprising the first time I read it.
nomfaux
I made the mistake of buying a bag of pumpkin spice flavored candy corn. They taste like perfumed candle wax. :ack2: Life giving me another friendly reminder to not grocery shop while hungry, I guess.

SparklyUnicorn
I agree. It is not candy corn if flavored. I'm not sad about candy that tastes like something and happens to be in the shape of a candy corn. Sounds way better than candy corn. Mimm
I'm convinced no one has made candy corn in about 100 years. They just made way too much and put it in this giant warehouse and we've been eating it ever since.
Meriwether
Candy corn is only edible with peanuts at a 1:5 or higher ratio.
Seasider
We usually get our annual candy corn sugar rush with the traditional Brach's because you just have to. Tradition! Yes, just one little bit a year and it has to be a quality brand, Brach's. I don't like flavor variations generally, but I did try a caramel candy corn last year that was not bad. Caramel seems a natural extension. The other crazy flavors, not so much. Candy corn =/= jellybeans. I'm not a candy person, really, I much prefer a slice of cake if I need something sweet. Anne in CA
I'm convinced no one has made candy corn in about 100 years. They just made way too much and put it in this giant warehouse and we've been eating it ever since. I saw a comedian do a routine about how they only ever made candy corn once. Every year they just wash it off and put it back in the Halloween bins, lol.

clementine
If you like salted nut rolls - combine 1 lg bag candy corn & 1 jar salted peanuts. Add M&M's and it tastes like a Payday candy bar. Never eat them plain again.
Southern Ivy
But, what exactly is the flavor of candy corn? I have to agree that it was made 100 years ago and never since. They're a scary sort of treat...much like those orange and black peanut butter things that are always left at the bottom of my dd's trick or treat bag after she I have eaten all the candy. Excelsior! Academy
I've always thought it had a light honey flavor. Mmmmm....plain ole, normal candy corn. If you don't like it, then give it to me. I don't plan on sharing!!

mom31257
I LOVE candy corn and can't stand all the spin-offs. I feel the same about candy canes. The pumpkins and chocolate candy corn are totally acceptable as an autumn mix, though! I won't be eating much at all this year because I don't eat large amounts of sugar anymore, but I will manage to eat a little.
