dancer67
I live in New England. And I really, really ..REALLY love the summers. I hate the cold and the winter,(someday I will get out of here). We have a back patio(not enclosed) that I enjoy sitting on during the spring and summer months. Now the weather has dipped to about 50 degrees during the day, and our patio does not get much sun. I want to be able to sit outside for as long as I can, without freezing. I have seen patio heaters, and was wondering if that would allow me to sit outside when it gets colder out. Can anyone give me their experience, and maybe what kind you have? My patio area is not very big. Total is about maybe 15 ft long by about 10 ft wide. But I only sit at our patio table in a small area. Thank you!
MercyA
We don't own any, but I've been at restaurants and homes that had them. They are very warm and toasty when you're close to them, but they don't seem to heat a wide area. IMO, they would let you sit outside comfortably in cooler weather.
4ofus
We have one & it works, you just have to sit very close. And create a line item in your budget for propane.

It is warm and very pretty to look at.
Vida Winter
They work pretty well. Be careful when it gets windy, though - they can blow over and get bent up (don't ask). During wind storms I push it against the house in a protected area or even lay it down.
KungFuPanda
Hold the presses! Apparently they make heated patio benches now. This is brilliant, but I'll have to wait a few years for the cheap knock-offs. http://www.galanterandjones.com/mobile This is much more affordable. I might need this myself. http://www.chaheati.com/items/all-season-heated-chair-redblack/
lmrich
I use an electric blanket. Of course that keeps just me warm, but it does the job nicely for one person.
