Another Lynn
See, I was coming here to stress over writing curriculum, but the server is so busy I can't. The curriculum board looked so calm, peaceful and slow I wondered what the problem was. So I came over here to general and found out.... teA, nekkid people, politics, and more teA. DH is gone so I had iced coffee instead - and still no solution to my writing woes. :tongue_smilie:
Susan Wise Bauer
Take your time. RockerTot's only 15 months old. I'm sure it will be finished by the time he needs it. If all goes as planned, anyway. :tongue_smilie:
fshinkevich
I always miss the good stuff. I KNEW I shouldn't have fed those darn kids.

pianoplayer
The seventeenth century...metaphysical poets fascinate me. Unfortunately won't arrive there until early 2010... SWB Ahhh, someone after my own heart! May I inquire as to your favorite?
nmoira
I was gonna say that, but I was afraid the principal might kick me out. It was a roundabout way of inquiring how high up the chain tea talk tolerance goes. As a woman now firmly in middle age, I greatly appreciate the perspectives shared here. I find it ironic that this board is more supportive of discussing this aspect of women's lives than a very liberal board for women I also frequent. Parrothead
I have been SUMMONED to watch the board. And I'm in Freeport, Maine, on vacation with my husband. Supposed to be eating fried clams and lobster right now. What'll we talk about? Up for suggestions. SWB I'm supposed to go down to Freeport next Saturday. If you end up close to Skowhegan send up smoke signals.
Susan Wise Bauer
It was a roundabout way of inquiring how high up the chain tea talk tolerance goes. It's good with me, and I'm pretty high up the chain. :-) Life is complicated and difficult. We need all the help we can get. SWB

Susan Wise Bauer
Ahhh, someone after my own heart! May I inquire as to your favorite? Well, John Donne is the Britney Spears of the metaphysical poets society--he overshadows all the rest--but I'm fascinated by George Herbert. Taking a lifetime of obscure labor and putting it into universal terms--THAT'S brilliance.

nmoira
Hey now!!!! :glare: ;) A very big board with almost 4,000 members. Edited to add: Sheesh... I'm destined never get this right. That was pages of members... there are over 100,000 members. Thought 4,000 was a bit small. :001_huh:
lwilliams1922
this is my first full year. I am starting with the ancients for my 8th grader. It would be really cool to have a bit more in the way of a chronological reading list. I'm not entirely clear. :(
dangermom
Oo! I like Herbert! Here's my question: when is my copy of the Art of the Public Grovel going to arrive? It's been 5 days and it's still in the mail!! I am annoyed about this. 'Course I don't know what you're going to do about it--I just thought I'd mention it. :D
rockermom
A very big board with over 50,000 members. Go ahead, feed my inferiority complex. :tongue_smilie: I never got to participate in the tea discussion. I probably would have flushed. Colleen in NS
What'll we talk about? The fact that you guys are just a ferry ride and a 3 hour drive from ME! Didja bring your passports with you? How long are you in Maine for? What adventures are you having there (I grew up about an hour south of Freeport, and my Mom still lives in that area)? Come on over, we'll clear a space for you, and just think of all the beauty and historical places you could see here......
rockermom
See my edit. I must now find a bridge to jump from. ..preferably a low one with water just deep enough and warm enough for me to swim to the shore with minimal discomfort. enigma
Best wishes for your vacation. I grew up in Maine, and miss it sometimes. (I'm in eastern NC now.) For the record, I always thought of Freeport as "down South."

Susan Wise Bauer
Psych is over, and I'm going to bed. No one's watching you guys. Adult swim. Enjoy. :001_smile: Will check in tomorrow to see how you did. Maybe. So go argue with each other without making use of logical fallacies and rhetorical excesses, or read a lovely book, or...drink some tea or something.
