mommysanders
I get spam every single day from these forums. I don't want to miss out on the great posts, so I just deal with it. But today my inbox was flooded with countless spam emails. Is there a way to stop these? It's very frustrating! I searched the forums and don't see anything regarding ways to block spam (while still being able to view a "real" post). Any help? Ethel Mertz
The forum has decent spam blocking software, but that doesn't stop individuals from posting and posting. We've been under a spam attack lately with most of it coming in the wee hours of the morning (east coast US time). Moderators are deleting it as soon as it is seen. The only thing I can suggest is to unsubscribe from the individual forums for awhile until this spam attack eases (I'm assuming that is why it is ending up in your email, as it is mine as well). Also, if you report the spam, you only have to report once per individual spammer.

mommybee
With the recent spam my web filter has started blocking the forums saying they are suspicious. That has never happened before.

Sarah I have it set so I only get emails if I get a private message. I don't get emails from the forums otherwise--I just come here most days and check the boards I'm interested in. Maybe play with different ways of checking the forums and see if you can find another way that works for you but without the spam?

kiana
Restrict topics started by new accounts to one per hour or somesuch. Genuine new people will be only mildly inconvenienced.

OtherJohn
Not as much progress as I would hope. But I am looking at some promising solutions now. Sorry. John

Acorn
I would suggest locking new members in an intro section and require some real posts before they are released to create a new post anywhere.
