Carpe Diem
A transfer student who will go to a college for two years at a college that does not do common app to a college that does? Does that student do the common app when they are a transfer student or should they do one now with current LOR? Sorry for not understanding this. Thanks. klmama
It probably depends on the college. Look on their website to see what is required of transfer students.
TechWife
Each college website will have information on what form their applications take. If your student needs to complete the common app, it will be clearly stated.
Sebastian (a lady)
When a student creates a Common App login one of the initial questions is if they are a first time applicant or a transfer applicant. So I think they would apply directly with the school they are starting at if it doesn't use Common App. Then they would apply to the school they are transferring to the year before they hope to attend that school. If the second school uses CA then their transfer app would use that. I would expect that several LORs would come from teachers at the first college rather than being mostly high school teachers.
