Guest Jo&Co
I thought that I had read in the product description for this program that the Textbook Teacher's Guide included weekly lesson plans ... however, I can't find 'em! Do they not exist after all? We're just starting 7A, and I'm not sure how to pace it besides "go at his own pace" for my son. I miss the Primary HIGs already :(
redsquirrel
Have you googled it? I have googled the "name of a textbook" and 'pacing guide' or 'schedule" and had good luck on occasion.
kbutton
This school says it uses this curriculum, and this is their syllabus. They don't do things in the order of the book: http://www.libertycommon.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Prealgebra-Curriculum-Map-v3-14-15.pdf It at least gives you a ballpark for how long to spend on each concept/chapter. I am not a scheduler. I am more the type that adjusts as we go, knowing that I want to be finished one book halfway through the year and the other at the end. I am planning roughly two weeks per chapter, but I don't have a copy of 7B to see how many chapters it has (I could look it up, but I don't need to know yet). I got 7A to peruse for next year and realized that we could start now and fill in with a few things I want him to do from 6A and 6B.
g1234
No, Dimensions 7 and 8 don't have schedules. Sigh. I really missed that. I'm glad we're in 8B now and nearly back to a text with a schedule. The one thing I can tell you is that we found 7A and 7B very slow going....like molasses. 8 has been way better. I heard others say the same thing, but only after this had caused us some stress. So I just wanted to say don't lose heart if things seem slow for a while!
Guest Jo&Co
Thanks very much for the input! Yes, I've googled every possibility I could think of, and haven't come up with anything besides the books we have, so I guess we'll just dive in and hope for the best! :) This is probably one of those things that seems more daunting to me in theory than turns out to be in practice. kbutton
We are definitely not going at a predictable pace, but in Chapter 2, we are starting to find a groove. My son has never fit a scheduled pace yet, so I am kind of used to it.
