visitor
Dear all, i am searching for living math books , for grade 2 and 3 . We are doing now Singapore Math and will be doing Beast Academy later on. But I miss living books during the Singapore Math days. My DS is very mathy and loves to do more math . Thanks , Visitor
....
Have you seen this website? http://livingmath.net/Readers/tabid/268/Default.aspx If you click on a Math Concept, they list a number of books that cover that concept. They must have updated the website or something...if I click on a link, it looks like there's nothing there, but if I scroll down - there's the list. (Maybe there's an ad or something at the top that my computer is not seeing.) They have book reviews and reviews of different math programs on the website, too - thought that was interesting.
Farrar
There's really nothing better than the livingmath lists. They're extremely comprehensive. At that age, we liked the I Love Math books and the Young Math books as well as the baby animals math series. The guy who wrote You Can Count on Monsters has a new one out too. Lots of good stuff for that age. Be sure to see what your library has in the nonfiction stacks too.
Jackie
My daughter loves the I Love Math books, the Sir Cumference books, and Adventures of Penrose the Mathematical Cat.
BatmansWife
I would also recommend I Love Math, they are by Time Life. You can probably find a set on ebay. There are a set of books by Greg Tang that are good...look here. I'm sure you can find these used also, or maybe your library will be able to get them. Not necessarily living math books, but HSBC has a sale on Mathmania, which are fun workbooks. I got the entire 40 book set. Kinda pricey, If I could have afforded it, I would have loved to have gotten King Joe when my daughter was younger...I think she would have loved that. But unfortunately the price is crazy. And, then of course there are always Life of Fred elementary books.
