Mailing chocolate?

The problem will be in the delivery trucks.  If her area is very hot, say over 80* or so, they may get some bloom on them from the chocolate releasing the cocoa butter.  They will still taste ok, but not be so pretty.  If it gets much hotter than 90, I would worry about melting, but it depends on the truck they are in.  Some delivery trucks are like little ovens and that 90 will be more like 110. Others are insulated and have air conditioning, so the temperature outside won't matter much. Covered espresso beans are often coated in a waxy layer since they are often sold with/on top of a coffee.  Unless they are a very expensive brand of chocolate (less likely to be wax coated), I would expect them to arrive in decent condition.
