Good morning! Fairly busy day here. I hope I do better with the schedule today. I forgot to pick up ds2 last night. Fortunately he called while we were waiting for ds3, so I actually hadn't driven 30 minutes home. As it was, it was 15 min in to get him, 15 back to the pool, and then 30 minutes home. It was a late night for all. Dd1 leaves for an OV today, so an airport run is included.

To do:

School for all

Chores for all

Airport run

Some house things

PM practice/judo

Have a great day!

I'm really hoping that today is the day the girls' bathroom and closets get finished.  Having their clothes and bathroom things etc. on different floors is not making our morning routine any easier.

  • Get kids up & out to school.  [done]
  • Rearrange some house stuff.  [done]
  • Clean bathrooms, kitchen, and some clutter.  [done]
  • Exercise.  [done]
  • Deal with construction guys.  [done]
  • Work.  [done]
  • Kids' work.  [done]
  • Family TKD.  [done]
  • Kids to gymnastics practice?  [done]
  • More kids' work?  [done]
  • Kids to bed.  [done]
  • Work.

Oh yeah, add request a return/refund for the bookcases that arrived broken.

Problem is that Amazon only gives you 30 days to return stuff.  I didn't know that.  Isn't there an implied warranty that if you buy something it's not going to arrive broken, regardless of when you open the box?  I couldn't open the girls' bedroom furniture until they had a bedroom to put it into.  :P  Who knew it was going to take this long?

So I sent a message to the seller.  We'll see if they offer to fix the problem.  Otherwise maybe I can figure out a fix.

I don't know what's stranger.  The rise of heavy-metal "music" (aka screaming like you just hit your thumb with a hammer), or the fact that grown-up people still listen to it.  Ugh.

Yes, that is what I'm being serenaded with today, courtesy of our construction team.

Today was a pretty good day for the kids, although they have been sniping at each other a lot this week.  :/  We did TKD and then they did gymnastics.  They were cooperative about the afterschool work I gave them.  This is good, because they were being whiney and stubborn about afterschool work during the first couple weeks of school.  I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that we don't have a TV for them to watch right now.  :)

The kids' closets and bathrooms are still not done.  They have one more day; the inspector is coming tomorrow afternoon.  I hope they don't do it half-a$$ed due to being rushed.  I don't need any more leaks and floods, thank you.

Funny thing.  I was wondering where the HVAC vents were in the kids' rooms.  Turns out the carpeting guys carpeted right over them.  Now the other guys have to go find the holes, rip out those parts of the carpets, and install the vent covers.  I'm not sure the crew would have remembered to uncover them if we hadn't asked about it.  :P
