Newegg -- experience/opinions

DH orders from them constantly.  He would probably say not to order refurbished items that have to go through a third party for returns- but ordering directly from NewEgg has been great.

So, if the item does not say 'choose from x sellers.'then it is directly from Newegg? You have also answered a question I had in another post on iPhone about ordering from eBay. It sounds like too much of a risk…. I do NOT want to be arguing with a seller about the condition of the phone. :-(

NewEgg has been around for a LONG time and IMHO is probably one of the best vendors (there are many others that are probably excellent) that sell computer components..  I believe I bought a Tripp Lite UPS (a gigantic and very heavy thing) from them, around 1992 and a CPU fan or something, at that time.   I believe I bought something from them on eBay, several months ago, but as I write this I don't remember what it was. Possibly is was the first of the TP-LINK WiFi Routers that we bought.  A couple of months ago, when I was interested in buying an External USB hard drive, one of my childhood friends wrote me that he'd recently purchased one from NewEgg.  He had a discount code from his credit card and he purchased their extended warranty on it.  I assume that if you should experience any issue(s) with the iPhone that their Customer Service would take good care of you. If you are careful about who you buy from on eBay, you may be safer than you think.  My impression is that eBay and PayPal will bend over backwards to make the Purchaser happy. So, my impression is that the eBay Sellers will try their best to make the Purchaser happy and to get a Positive Feedback from the Purchaser.

There is something called eBay Buyer protection (?)  that should take care of you if you purchase from a Seller that does not take returns.

The last of the 3 Refurbished Dell Latitude E6400 laptops that our family purchased from Blair Technology Group (BlairTG)  was purchased on eBay.  Blair is a *very* reputable company.  There was an issue with the DVD drive (laser very dirty or out of alignment?) and it couldn't read the DVD I needed to boot from. I sent them an email on a Sunday afternoon, describing the symptoms and testing I'd done. Monday afternoon I had a friendly email telling me that if I sent him the Shipping Address he would send me a Replacement DVD drive.

Our family has purchased a number of Brand New Dell Desktops from Dell Latin America and my belief is that I would have been on the phone with them for a long time, jumping through hoops, before they authorized a replacement drive. And my wife and I think the world of Dell Latin America and the wonderful support they have provided to us over the years.

The Used Dell Latitude E6410 laptop I won in an eBay auction last Thursday night was from a reputable seller and I am sure that if there is an issue that they will make me happy.

GL with whatever you purchase!

No iPhones at Blair, but if I needed a PC. I would definitely go there.

We've been buying from NewEgg for a long, long time. We don't buy from them often, but as Lanny said, they have been around a long time. They are a very reputable vendor.

That is good to know. Someone on my other thread (iPhone 4s) suggested Gazelle, and the site is beautifully organized, so I am thinking of that for this particular purchase. But thank you for the newegg recommendation.
