FriedClams
Reasonably priced...b&w only is fine. We have an all in one which takes 9 minutes per copy. I timed it. I hate it. The printer part is fine, but the "scan and then print a photo of the scan" system is killing me. Thanks a ton!!!
stormy weather
In a word, No. I just got a Canon pixma mg2920. It's okay. I'm not loving it. You are supposed to be able to set your phone on it and it will print, it's nice when it works. Also I was spoiled by having a dedicated scanner that feeds the papers and scans both sides at work. Next time I will just go big and get a laser printer and a separate scanner.
matrips
I love my brother multi function j5720dw. Not a bad price. Does almost everything, pretty fast, uses inexpensive high yield ink cartridges. I bought it last fall.
Suzanne in ABQ
I love my Brother Laser All-in-one. It's a wireless printer/scanner/copier/fax. Model: MFC-7880DW. The toner cartridges cost about $50, but they make 2000 copies (b/w only). It wasn't terribly expensive, and almost headache free. It just works, well, every time. (Only headache is scanning photos wirelessly. I must connect to scan photos, but not regular documents). Oh, and I haven't hooked up the fax, so I don't know how well that works. I just timed a copy, and the first copy takes 16 seconds. Multiples of the same page are much faster (maybe 3 seconds each).

I've had it for a few years, I like it, and I would buy it again if something happened to it. The only thing I could imagine wanting would be for it to print quickly from my phone, and for it to scan both sides of a page at once - but those are features I would rarely ever use if I had them, so not worth the extra $$ it would probably cost. Oh, and sometimes, I find I want color, but that would be more expensive, so I am happy to do without.
spudboy
Our HP LaserJet 3055 B&W printer/copier/scanner/fax has been handling the family homeschool and my home office for years. We have used all its functions, and it works fine with Linux, Apple, and Microsoft Windows computers. The paper feeder for multi-page copying and scanning works really well for a relatively low-cost machine. Printing is reasonably fast, and they put a surprisingly large amount of toner in the cartridge, so they last a while. I don't think they make this model any more (I think most of the newer ones have less toner so they can sell you a cartridge more often) but they are available refurbished. FriedClams
Thank you so much. I have a Brother printer I bought in 1997 that still works, so your Brother recommendations are resonating with me. Hmm... Amazon here I come!
