Ipsey
My daughter forgot the password on an ipod she lost. Lo! She has found it again, unfortunately she has forgotten the password. Additionally, she never backed it up on a computer. Is there any way we can get back into this ipod and save/rescue anything she has on it? Catwoman
Have you called Apple support or your local Apple Store for help? I'm sure they can help you recover the password.
whitestavern
You have to plug the iPod into the original computer that it was synced with. Then you can navigate and do a back up. If it wasn't set up on a computer I think you're out of luck :( Good luck.
Deee
Tech Support is still in bed (its 8.30am here) but I think he'd say take it to the Apple store. Take proof of purchase if you have it D
Jean in Newcastle
Is the device locked? Has she forgotten the passcode? Or is it the Itunes account password? If it the passcode then she's out of luck. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204306 If it is the Itunes account or Apple password then go onto a computer, go to ITunes, and try to log in. There will be a "forgot your password" option that will send a new password to your e-mail account.
Spy Car
I believe there is a way to back up all the data (despite the iPod being locked) using iTunes. Then you'd need to do a "restore" which basically erases the device and you start over with the backed up data. PITA, but better than losing everything. There are specific steps to follow. I'd look online for instructions. Bill
BrittanyM
Go to the Genius Bar. We just had this problem with our iPad mini and they have a way to back it up, restore and reload the backup without messing anything up! It was a lifesaver! ETA: You will need your iTunes account information.
