BrittanyM
We like elderberry syrup, but it isn't recommended for people with autoimmune history, so I don't take it. I always take high doses of vitamin C and Trilight Health 'Scout Out' tincture, it is amazing stuff (but not for use when pregnant).
fdrinca
Anecdotal evidence from our household suggests that ACV, garlic, Vitamin C, and rest are efficacious remedies at the first signs of a cold. DH refuses to take anything for colds. Perhaps an Advil if it's *really* bad. I use these four remedies, as time and stomachs allow. My illness rate is 25%? of his. DS4 will happily take all of these, and he's very much the healthiest kid. I've been nursing or pregnant nonstop for 9 years, so I am off of most OTC medications, although every spring, as I'm endlessly sniffling, I remember that SUDAFED IS A WONDER DRUG. Sigh. kroe1
1. Emergen-C or equivalent 2. Ibuprofen 3. Tylenol 4. My actor friend's concoction for tea: Hot tea made with lots of fresh ground pepper and fresh ginger flakes. 5. Practice in front of the mirror moaning and looking pitiful so my family will leave me alone.

myfunnybunch
Hot water with lots of lemon, honey, ginger. But really, a cold is a cold. Rest and denial (as in, "I refuse to get sick, so there!") work best for me. :D
