Guest MSidd
Hi Ive done FLL 3 with my 3rd grader and while making the purchase for 4 i realised the content is pretty much the same as 3. Any experienced teachers out there who can help me with this buying decision. As for WWE4, likewise we have done WWE3 (but not entirely i have about 10 weeks on it left). I felt too overwhelmed doing this curriculum as i have another child so i was liteally out of breath reading and explaining. I dont feel like i should go ahead with WWE4 - do any of you recommend i try WWS for my 4th grader - he is a creative writer of sorts. PeterPan
Why don't you do the Creative Writer books instead? :)
SilverMoon
I would NOT use WWS with a creative writing 4th grader. It's generally not a good fit for natural creative writers. Maybe go sideways for a year. Like Writing & Rhetoric or Wordsmith Apprentice.
RootAnn
I wouldn't feel bad skipping WWE4 at all. Definitely don't start WWS with a 4th grader. I don't know enough about FLL series to answer your FLL question.
scootiepie
I am going from WWE3 to CAP Writing and Rhetoric Fable. We switched since I felt we got out of WWE all we could and didn't see a need for another year. As for FLL 4 and I went ahead and continued it. My son needs all the reinforcement he can get. allisonknits
We are continuing into FLL4 but skipping WWE4. We are trying out Treasured Conversations instead.
kesmom
SWB now says in her revised recommendations that three years of WWE is enough. We switched to CAP W+R. We also passed over FLL4 because my child was very solid on the material - moving on to Fix-it Grammar.
Charlene
I don't know about FLL (haven't used it), but I would not do WWE4. I agree with trying out creative writer or some other creative writing program this year. If you still want something similar to WWE in some ways but also different, maybe you could look into English Lessons through Literature 4.
