Question about selling on the Classifieds forum

How do people handle the financial transactions when they sell and buy from the Classifieds forum. Paypal? Personal checks? Do you only ship after payment has been received?

I've never sold; I've only purchased from the classifieds here. After confirming the item is still available and ensuring I understand the exact condition and agreeing upon a purchase price, I pay via Paypal, making sure my ship-to address in Paypal is accurate. There is space to leave the seller a note, if necessary. The seller usually sends an e-mail to let me know s/he has shipped the product after receiving payment. Usually I follow-up with an e-mail letting the seller know that I have received the package. Hope that helps.

I accept Paypal and USPS money orders only.  Most people pay with Paypal.

I accept personal checks and money orders.  I don't have PayPal.  It's possible to use PayPal though to purchase gift cards at locations such as Barnes & Noble and Walmart, so sometimes I've been paid with PayPal purchased gift cards.

I only deal in Pay Pal (the only way I buy or sell).

I do not ship until payment is received; I do not expect something to be shipped to me until payment is received.

I wish the Classifieds could be subdivided into subjects: math, spelling, english, etc. Trying to search that forum is overwhelming...
