Pink and Green Mom
My fifth grader is doing an academic co-op that meets twice a week. Some classes are Monday and some are Wednesday. The teachers teach the week's lesson and then give 4 days of work - which we need to get done in 3 (since we are at co-op the other two - I wish the teachers would have adjusted for this). Anyway, our co-op subjects are these: Writing: WWS 1 Grammar: Analytical Grammar Literature: 5 books will be read and analyzed (with vocabulary), right now they are reading Treasure Island Science: Rainbow middle school science physics (1st semester) and chemistry (second semester) Robotics Art Math: Mr. D pre algebra (online program, but Mr. D comes to the co-op to teach weekly) Piano On our own we have: All About Spelling Trail Guides World Geography American history (using Guest Hollow's history syllabus with Notgrass America The Beautiful as the spine) Logic (mindbenders and red herrings) Memory work (he will memorize US presidents and Paul Revere's Ride) We have only started our co-op and spelling this week. I am already getting tears and 'tude about the work. Sigh. Next week we will ease into geography and then the week after that history.
