Christian Bale (After Newsies)

Tom Cruise (sadly :glare: )

Jonathan Crombie (Gilbert Blythe)

Cary Grant (even though I was a teen in the 90s, I had posters of him hanging in my room)

Cary Grant! yes! I also loved Clark Gable, James Dean (had a poster of him in my room), and Humphrey Bogart - what a man!

As far as celebrities go, I had crushes on several athletes, most notably OJ Simpson. This was in the early 70s, folks.

In real life, I had a major crush on one of the star athletes at my high school. He was two years older than I, and in Algebra and Geometry with me. I "tutored" him, and he was nice to me because of it. Outside of school, I often went for bike rides that would take me past his house, hoping that he would be outside and say hello to me. I had it bad.

David Bowie as Jareth in Labyrinth - that was probably my first crush.

I went through a pretty boy stage in my pre-teen years:

The Coreys (I sat through so many awful movies because they were in them...I'm not ashamed!)

Joey and Donnie from NKOTB

Ryder Strong

Fred Savage

Will Wheaton

Jonathan Brandis

Niel Patrick Harris (Doogie Houser!! I'm still in denial that he's gay, lol.)

Seth Green (Does anyone remember the show Byrds of Paradise?)

Then I went through a rocker phase:

Axle Rose

Eddie Vedder

Kurt Cobain

Trent Reznor

Scott Weiland

Gavin Rosedale

In my late teen years:

Nicholas Brendan

James Marsters

Leonardo DiCaprio

Jerry O'Connell

Jared Leto

I was totally into Wil Wheaton in middle school. I was secretly obsessed with TNG and would stay up super late at night to watch it.

My parents made me stop watching TNG because I got too emotional over it when Wesley was in danger (and this was the Wesley The Boy Wonder season, so that was like every other episode), so I had to sneak it, too. Usually at a friend's houses. No wonder I wasn't very popular :)

I was so rebellious, I rebelled against the convention of teen crushes.

That's not how it works. I didn't have teen crushes because I was conforming to convention. I had them because I thought the objects of my affection were attractive, smart, funny, talented... In the case of one IRL crush in particular, I wished that I could stop those feelings, as they were not requited and caused me a lot of hurt.

In thinking back over my teen crushes....I think I really went for that "older man" type.

Harrison Ford [because.....of COURSE]

Dean Butler [Almanzo on "Little House"]

Jon Erik Hexum ["Voyagers" and "Cover Up" - so so sad when he died]

Anthony Andrews [NBC miniseries "The Scarlett Pimpernel" - *SWOON*]

Pierce Brosnan [Remington Steele]

Bruce Boxleitner [scarecrow and Mrs. King - the family knew better than to talk to me when Remington Steel or Scarecrow were on tv]

Tom Burlinson ["Man from Snowy River" and another NBC miniseries about the first Olympics]

{Now we're getting younger}

Jonathan Crombie [Anne of Green Gables]

Prince Edward [only a few years older than me.  Edward, why did you never look my way?!?!?]

"I wear my sunglasses at night..." :D

Listened to the Bay City Rollers on an 8-track.  Yup.  You heard me.  8-track.

:D

My teen crush was Michael J. Fox.  It was even cooler that he was Canadian.  Loved him on "Family Ties". :)

Yep, I gotta admit I thought he was pretty cute too.

I'm cracking up at how many of us loved the guys from The Outsiders. Every last one of them but particularly Patrick Swayze and Matt Dillon. And uh. *shame* John Travolta. I also kinda had a thing for the Hanson boys but I figured I'd go for Isaac because he wasn't the uber popular Taylor and Zac was too young... plus, he was kind of in the awkward stage so I figured I had a better shot with him. :p

Trent Reznor and Gavin Rosdale...yes! But, admittedly, I was in my mid 20s by then. I still feel wistful thinking of the Rolling Stone cover I framed on Gavin in ..1997..was it? Sigh......

Jimmy from h.r.puffnstuff (but that show was not about drug use).

He also had the role of the artful dodger in the movie oliver. But I didn't know that until last year when I watched oliver with the kids.

10 brownie points to you!

Yes, he played Dodger on stage in London and then performed the role in the film. He was nominated for an Oscar.

I also had all of three of his albums and made a point of searching out every movie and TV show he did. My favorite was Melody (which apparently is now known by a different name), in which he was re-teamed with Mark Lester (who played Oliver in the aforementioned film).

He also made a guest appearance on Sigmund and the Sea Monsters.

There are a good number of popular songs from the 1960s and early 1970s that I know because I sang along to Jack Wild's cover versions for much of my pre-teen-hood.

Jimmy from HR Pufenstuf - one of my favorite shows. I cried a little when he died.

I was very upset. It was really sad.

Unfortunately, you are the second poster to correctly identify the wondrous Mr. Wild. So, I can award you only honorary brownie points. However, I will provide you with this small consolation prize:

Right there in the rocking chair beside you.

I used to take my allowance down to the store and carefully select two 45s of the week's current hits.

OH MY GOSH! I LOVED buying 45's and even more...I loved those nifty yellow things that one snapped into place to play the 45's. Perhaps I should dust off my rocking chair now...

I wanted to like this, but it appears I've used up all my likes for today. So, I'll just welcome you and your rocking chair onto the porch with the rest of us oldsters.

First crushes were Erik Estrada (CHiPs) and Randolph Mantooth (Emergency).

Then I moved on to Adam of Adam and the Ants.  Actually had a real personalized response from a fan letter I wrote him.  Oh, and yes, George Michael.  LOL

Erik Estrada does some TV commercials from time to time.  I think he's aged rather well.

No idea what happened to Randolph.

Adam of Adam and the Ants had bipolar disorder and has had many issues.

Has no one mentioned JTT? Jonathan Taylor Thomas? He was on the cover of all the magazines in the 90s.

I never could figure out the obsession with JTT.  I didn't find him attractive at all.  Almost as bad as I thought Leonardo DiCaprio was.

There was a short time I had a big crush on Scott Weinger.  I loved watching Aladin just to hear his voice.

I forgot about Joshua Jackson.  I seriously cheered when Joey picked Pacey.

I still like watching Rider Strong when he's on Girl Meets World.  (The spelling of his name is often misspelled as Ryder.  It was in a recent article about a new movie he's in.  He tweeted - yes, I follow him on Twitter - that his name is a little more porn star and a little less moving truck.)  He and two friends do a Podcast once or twice a month talking about a book they've all read.  This makes him seriously awesome.  It's nice to see a child star who grew up normal (he's married and has a baby boy now).

I didn't really have a teen crush on a celebrity. Not that kind of girl.

But... I was wildly crazy about a guy I met my junior year. In my senior year, we made a date for ten years in the future, to meet in NYC and go ice skating at Rockefeller. We both went to college, move across the country from each other. He was my gold standard for every guy I dated after that. [sigh]

We reconnected shortly before our date. So instead of going ice skating... We got married. :)

Did you know he's a type 1 diabetic? I bet that partly why he still looks good - he has to take care of himself, healthwise!

I read or saw an interview with him where he discussed going "public" with his diabetes.  He had passed out and had to be carried off stage (I think there's actually a video shot of it in "Every Rose Has Its Thorn"), and the rumors started flying that he was on drugs.  He set the record straight.

Ok, I don't think I've seen my sister's crush on the list yet. Her crush from when she was *4yo* ( :w00t: ): Burt Reynolds.

Lol. She has always had an eye for the guys (usually the tall, dark-haired, handsome types). My mom swears that my sis probably checked out the ob-gyn as she was being born.

My best friend and I kept a notebook of our teen crushes into which we'd glue in torn out star magazine articles (not pathetic at all!).  My crushes were:

1. Harrison Ford (top on the list after seeing Raiders and Empire Strikes Back)

2. Kirk Gibson (Detroit Tiger baseball player)

3. Pierce Brosnan

4. Tom Selleck

5. Mel Gibson

6. Tony Geary (Luke on General Hospital)

7. Jack Wagner (also on General Hospital)

8. Rick Springfield (GH again)

9. Bono (still have a crush on him)

Brian from the Backstreet Boys... that one went on for YEARS.

Ryan Phillippe

Mark Wahlberg (he gets hotter every day)

And most of all.... The Rock. I never missed an episode of wrestling, we went to see it live multiple times, poster hanging in my room. I loved him. :)

There were a lot more I'm sure... but I've had more crushes as an adult  I'm a man fan.

First, I want to say I am old. Very, very old. I have been on these boards since their original incarnation.

My first crush was on James Darren, singer and actor then featured in "The Time Tunnel." His album was the first record I ever bought. Sigh.
