Murrayshire
I have the Great Course "Superstar Student" that we planned on using over this year but it got pushed to the back burner. I was going to do this over the summer with my two girls but thought it would be beneficial to some others in the co-op we are joining next school year as an elective. Has anyone used the DVD this way? Would I just have them watch the 30 min. lecture, take notes, then we discuss what's in the course guide? Any advice or opinions would be helpful to me! 😉
Bambam
I'm planning to do this as well so I'd be interested in any and all ideas as well!
katilac
First, you are going to need permission from The Teaching Company; all of their lectures are sold for private, noncommercial use only. There is a link to email them about it here: http://www.thegreatcourses.com/support/copyright-information
Murrayshire
I didn't think about that......thanks for letting me know. Still, if it's doable, that leaves me to my same question from my op. I was going to make out my own discussion sheets unless there are some other WTM 'ers that have better, more engaging ideas.
MtnTeaching
We just watched it and discussed it during our lunch time each day. I am curious if anyone has used it in a co-op setting before. Personally, I think it needed more "meat" to it. I had my kids work extra on taking notes and also used the book What Smart Students Know: Maximum Grades, Optimum Learning, Minimum Time to give it a bit more depth.
