Guest ggzubrod
I am looking for advice on a Grammar curriculum for my daughter in 7th grade next year. She has completed Shurley Grammar 6. We already have a good writing program and a source for Vocabulary, so this would mainly be grammar, and ideally would include diagraming. What suggestions do you have? Thanks. MiMi 4under3
I don't have any experience with Shurley, but my kids use Hake. Maybe Hake Grammar 7 would work for you.
amsunshine
I was going to suggest Hake grammar, as well. It does include diagramming.

Saddlemomma
We will continue using the newly revised Fix-It Grammar by IEW along with Latin. Dd used the first book this year and enjoyed it. It's short and simple, but complete. The concepts built upon each other quickly and taught her a great deal. There are six books in total and each builds upon the other in difficulty with a short review of previous concepts in the beginning of each successive book. SnMomof7
We are continuing on to CLE LA next year. It does include extensive diagramming. I would recommend their placement test before ordering, however.
SparklyUnicorn
I'd recommend Hake. I have not used the 8th grade level, but I have used 2 levels. It's very thorough.
AdventuresinHomeschooling
What about Warriner's grammar? They are out of print books, but I hear so many good things about them. You can still get used versions on amazon. Holt Traditions program is based on Warriner's, and it is colorful, but it is not quite the same. It is very schoolish with a large textbook.
SilverMoon
My teens used and were successful with Rod and Staff English 7 for 7th grade. My rising 7th grader has asked for a change. Since he very rarely complains about curricula, I'm planning on using Analytical Grammar for him instead. Both include diagramming and solid instruction. Zoo Keeper
We've used older editions of Warriner's. Inexpensive, easy to use, secular content (was used back when public schools consistently taught grammar). I have older editions from the 60's/70's that were cheap on the used market.
