AprilTN
Do you have a school break in June or July? If so, do your children (specifically teens) participate in any camps during that time? I am trying to find info and I am having a difficult time finding week long or 2 week long camps or adventures. Thanks!
nd293
It's not like in the US, if that's what you're asking. We have a 2 week break, as in April and Sept/Oct. Camps are not common. The exception might be church or sports camps run for members. You are more likely to find sports clinics where you drop your child off every day for a few hours. Leisure centres offer day activities, but these are mostly for younger children. Dd13 is attending a 3 day writing course this holiday, but I will drop her off every day. Melissa in Australia
it is the middle of winter here during that time even so . there are no camps as such, like I read about on this Forum that happen in America even in the summer
LMD
Yeah, we have day holiday programs which are generally for kids whose parents need to work. Winter break is between term 2 and 3. 2 weeks in late June/early July. I've seen other activity related 'camps' which are also just drop off during the day. Pegs
Yeah, all the camps I know of are nonresidential.
Ausmumof3
The school holiday activities are often run by Out of school hours care groups. Commonly known as osh here. I don't know if you'd be able to get them to participate. Some gyms and rec centres offer programmes
Rosie_0801
Sometimes the guides and scouts run camps that non-members can attend, but probably not in the winter down south here.
