Good morning!

My sinuses are still yuck, but I have to go lead book club regardless.

The kids and I leave for the beach tomorrow morning. Daddy and my sister and nephew were supposed to be there for 3 weeks. She had to leave and go back home, so he's been there alone. He's checked in every day, though. We'll stay until next Monday when he checks out.

Done:

breakfast and lunch for dh

fed cats

To Do:

breakfast

shower and get ready

buy batteries for my globe

book club

late lunch

grocery store on way home

finish laundry and packing

dinner

take dd to a meeting

pack the car

Good morning!  I hope it's a great day for all of us.

I have a long list of things to do today for "work" work.  The kids' situation is accommodating my job by chance, because they have to stay after school for play practice, and then they will go to "late room" until 6pm.  Also, Miss A hurt her toe so I decided we'll skip TKD today.  Hopefully no weird crises arise and I'm able to feel like normal working parents feel today.  ;)

Today's list:

  • Get kids up & out, including breakfast, lunches, memory review.  [done]
  • Clean bathrooms, kitchen, some clutter.  [done]
  • Work until 5:30pm. [done]
  • Take work breaks for:
    • a little exercise  [done]
    • a little reading  [done]
    • a little housework  [done]
  • Pick kids up from aftercare.  [done]
  • Dinner.  [done]
  • Read-aloud.  [skipped because of work]
  • Kids' homework, piano, chores, afterschooling.  [done]
  • Consolidate garbage (Weds morning pickup)  [partly done]
  • Prepare kids' school bags for Wednesday.  [done]
  • Lay out school clothes for Wednesday.  [done]
  • Kids to bed.  [done]
  • Work until midnight or whenever I get all my deadline stuff out.

took ds to work

went back to bed

woke up but I'm so tired and draggy!

renewed a prescription by phone

neighbor called to tell me about a great deal on probiotics

FIL called.  MIL isn't doing well.  I was referring him to the nurses there until I could hear her moaning and keening in the background.  I went and got dh.  I'm not sure what is happening there but I know he's making some calls.

Next - breakfast and I have to call to reschedule an appt. so that I can take dh to his appt. since he won't be able to drive afterward.

Whew, got 3 big reports out, got what I needed to complete 2 more, and if I'm not forgetting anything, I might actually have things under control by midnight.  :p

BUT, of course, I uncovered a mistake that is too late to fix.  Not my mistake, but people will probably blame me anyway for not anticipating it or catching it sooner.  The discussions are ongoing regarding how this should impact one of the big reports that is due today.  Blah.

Ds was going to make spaghetti sometime this week.  Fortunately he decided to help me out by making it now so that dh has something to eat when he comes flying through here in a few minutes.  The nursing home is not close and he had to go there, figure things out with his mom and then come back here to change and get his stuff for work before flying out the door again for work.

Dd helped me to get the dishwasher going and to make dh's sandwich for work.  As in we did both of those things together.

Today's an Emergency Mode day.  Dh has his scrubs, hot lunch and packed sandwich.  I've taken care of some medical stuff on the phone.  The kitchen is semi clean (ds is a messy cook) and I know I'll get to the rest of it by bedtime so I'm not going to worry about it.  Let's see, what else?  I've taken my meds.  Pets were taken care of.  I've sat down with both kids and they are doing their appropriate schoolwork.

Had a couple of pleasant hours just doing homebody mom things.  Sent the kids outside to play and get dirty in between doing homework and eating dinner.  Knocked a few things off my to-do list earlier than usual.  Then back upstairs to do some work before bedtime.
