jewell
It seems there are several free elctronics courses out there. But I don't know which are good, and which are outdated. I also see several kits, but have no idea if they are overpriced. I am needing a recommendation for a 9th grade boy who struggles with math and dyslexia, but is interested in electronics. We are also on an extremely limited budget. Looking forward to your ideas! Oh, and for what it's worth, if there is any kind of "christian" influence, so much the better. SparklyUnicorn
You could start off with something like an electronics learning lab. I know, this is not inexpensive: http://www.amazon.com/Elenco-500-in-One-Electronic-Project-Lab/dp/B00008BFZI/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1427491609&sr=8-4&keywords=electronics+learning+lab My son learned a ton using various labs like these. You don't need any math for these particular lab kits.
jewell
Thanks. That is a good start. Does anyone know of a simple starter kit that would give an idea if this will be an abiding interest for him before we spend $200. Or does anyone know where to get one used? Arcadia
My kids started with this. No math required http://www.amazon.com/Elenco-Electronic-Playground-Learning-Center/dp/B0035XSZDI The manual in PDF is in below link so you can see if it might work for your child http://www.elenco.com/admin_data/pdffiles/EP-130.pdf
