Tiramisu
Vitamin K helps clotting. There are different types and I'm unfamiliar with the differences. He could eat natto (fermented soybeans), which are supposed to be high in vitamin K. However, if he hasn't had blood work lately, it might be worth checking his platelets.
JenneinCA
Ice. Put the finger in a glass of ice water. My dad is on Coumadin and that is what his doctors told him to do.
Angie in VA
I've used cayenne pepper to stop bleeding, but I'm not a medical professional!
Catwoman
How to encourage clotting? DH takes baby aspirin and now a pinprick of a cut won't stop. Suggestions? Baby aspirin shouldn't have that big an effect on a small cut. Has your dh had his platelets checked recently? They might be low.

gardenmom5
I will suggest he have his platelets checked. I know they have been done in the last year, but it was still months ago. do you just apply the cayenne? he wanted me to get a styptic pen, but the drug store I went to was out. I'll try to find one elsewhere to have it on hand. or else end up ordering from amazon . . . he was able to get it stopped, but it was a huge mess from a pinprick of a shaving cut this morning. I am starting to wonder if the little "bump" of skin that he has hit a number of time is more than just a "bump of skin"? (it is very small.) I haven't looked at it closely (with a magnifying glass - my eyes are getting bad), but from a distance it doesn't look like anything but a bump.
