ThelmaLou
My oldest son achieved his Eagle rank December 2013, but we didn't really solicit any letters. He did get flags flown over the state and US Capitols. Now my second son is due to be awarded his Eagle Scout in May. I saw something on pinterest indicating that you can ask for letters of congratulations from just about anyone. The ideas flooding my mind are endless. If you did this, who did you ask and how often was it met with success? In addition to local/political leaders, did you go out on a limb and ask any celebrities with success? Thanks so much! Twigs
I sent high school and college graduation announcements to the US president and received congratulatory cards each time.
QueenCat
Ds got them from a lot of different places but in his troop, the Committee Chair does all of the solicitations for each Scout that reaches Eagle. The parents are not involved with that aspect of the Eagle stuff.
