MomOfABunch
Today has been a really hard day. DD has been a grumbly, whiny, perseverating mess all weekend. She practically woke up having a tantrum this morning. She and 3 year old brother got into a fight and she shoved him hard off the bed onto the floor. He's ok, thankfully. I lost my mommy patience at her and yelled a little too much, took her iPad and sent her to her room. I gave her her evening meds early with some Tylenol, just in case she has pain which is causing the behavior. She seems to have calmed down. Since the meds worked, now I feel bad I yelled at her. That's not my usual strategy...I just lost it for a min... Ugg, I need a vacation.
clemota
:grouphug: We all lose it sometimes - nobody's perfect. You're still a good mom!! You even recognized that it could be a pain causing the behavior, and took an extra step to help her in case that was true. That's awesome! I'll join you on that vacation.

AmyontheFarm
My suitcase is packed. Can I come also? If so, where are we going and will there be a kilt wearing cabana boy?
Princess Ariel
You're a good mom! :grouphug: Can I come on the vacation? I really need one, too! Or at least a day off!
PeterPan
So sorry. I give my kids Calm Child when they're like that. You might get a bottle. One spoon and 20 minutes in bed and whatever it was improves.

displace
Hugs! I've told DS for three days at various times to not talk to me. I'm thinking of taking a day off tomorrow for no reason! I even let the kids veg on TV all day.
PeterPan
Planetary Formulas Calm Child, Herbal Syrup, 8 fl oz (236.56 ml), Glass This is what I use. It comes in a couple sizes, in case you want to try a smaller bottle first. I haven't tried the tablets, but that could be an option too. The syrup works really quickly and tastes ok to my kids.
MomOfABunch
Thanks you guys. It's been a while since she had behavior like this. I'm hoping that since the Tylenol helped, she just has a headache or cramps or something and it won't last long! I wish she would just tell me with words!

MomOfABunch
The note from school was that she had an "emotional day" today. I really hope this is just cycle associated headache/cramps and/or anxiety about our upcoming move and not a meds issue.
MomOfABunch
And.............it's my fault. She's continued to have a hard time. After speaking with her teacher at school 3 times throughout the day, I decided to switch her AM and PM risperdal doses. 2 weeks ago her dr switched her to .5 mg am and 2 mg pm. Before it had been 1 and 1. So, I got out her pill sorter. Know what I've been giving her? .5 mg AM and 1 mg PM. #mommyfail

MomOfABunch
:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: BTDT. Glad it's not just me! I feel like the worst mom ever :/ I filled the pill sorter on Saturday, so the dose was wrong from Saturday afternoon until last night. Uggggg.....at least I know the meds as really helping her!

clemota
At least you're able to correct the mistake. Glad it seems to only be a meds issue and not a what-new-problem-is-rearing-its-ugly-head-now issue. :zombie: ...And you're still a good mom. :001_smile:
