Mama Geek
We have tons of stickers, markers, crayons, erasers. I would like to come up with something that isn't play with it for a few days and throw it out. Any great ideas. DD is almost 5.

pehp
In our baskets this year: tiny Easter snow globes (my children are fools for these--I found them at the thrift store for 50 cents each and they are darling), one queen/prince figurine each (Papo, from amazon), an Easter book (mousekins, used from half.com or somewhere similar), and a little bit of candy. Oh! And a few other items I never buy them but that they will love: princess band-aids for my daughter, for instance. Interesting toothbrushes. That kind of thing. last year I think they each got a playmobil toy--my son got a stagecoach and my daughter got a princess' carriage. Hours of play have come from those! And they were relatively inexpensive. One year I gave my son the hardback Complete Beatrix Potter books.....we have loved those over and over again......
73349
Coins in some of the Easter eggs were of great interest to DS at 4/5/6.
Chris in VA
Are you a Christian, or do you celebrate a secular Easter? (You don't have to answer--I'm just going with the Christian ideas, so pls disregard if they don't fit your family.) Christian toys I like the biblical plants terrarium, myself.
Sarah0000
I'm doing a hardware theme one with little things from the hardware store.
DhanyaCali
Basket right, not eggs? We do mostly books. We usually include a new Bible for each kid. Maybe pack of socks. A few squeezee food pouches, which yes even the big boy likes. We have never done candy, we have occasionally put a toy in. One year I gave D stretchy thread in basket and then in the Easter eggs I hid different kinds of beads :)
tm919
Our five year old is getting: 1. 3 of those little lego friends bags 2. a stuffed Audubon bird (a chickadee, her younger sister is getting the American Robin) 3. a cup of caterpillars (the insect lore ones). I have the home for when they become butterflies. I was also thinking of some of the Steve Spangler test tubes but I think I've already exceeded what an Easter basket should cost.
sarahjokim
We're including two of the Audubon stuffed birds too (chickadee and hummingbird). They are awesome! They make real bird calls.
