Morning, Happy Sunday.

Dh is heading home today so I"ll have my car back.   I HATE driving his car.   In addition to being huge (Suburban) and old enough to not have a back-up camera, the seats no longer adjust (good thing I'm not short), the mirrors need to be done by hand, it doesn't ride smooth, and in addition to all the other problems it's had lately, right now the hood is held down with a piece of wire.  The hinge up by the windshield, the piece of metal actually sheared in half.   So they wired it down until the part comes in, but dh didn't want to drive it 2 1/2 hours down the parkway to his mom's, so he took my car.   I'm only driving the 5 miles from home to the science center, but part of what I need to do is move stuff to my upstairs storage.  The easiest way to do that is to load up the car and park on the street right outside the door to the upstairs.  But it's always crowded due to a restaurant that is right there, and it's parallel parking.  No way am I trying to parallel park his monstrous truck.

I have a ton of cleaning to do both upstairs and downstairs this afternoon.  Classes start again tomorrow so I have to get it done.  I've been moving slower than usual because I managed to pull the muscle in my back, AGAIN.  Ugh.

ETA:  Great, a b****ing about the car booya.

Today after church, I'm having lunch with a bunch of my classmates from high school days (aka The Dark Ages).  I am hoping that it will be fun.  (One of my besties will be there and that part definitely will be fun.)

Did you go to high school in the US or in Japan?

Good morning!

Today is my 52nd birthday.  The kids got up and made baked French toast for breakfast - they used croissants, so it was extra yummy.  It had to go in the oven at 5:30am so we could eat before ds26 had to leave for his church job.  I ended up having to drive him to church because he got a flat tire last night.  Hopefully we'll be able to get it replaced today.

Coffee!

Good morning. I hope you had a happy nirthday, Susan! I had coffee with a couple of friends on the screened porch. It was nice. And I had, over the course of the day, also a can of Pepsi and an idea that I wound up working on in the evening, so I maybe got less than 5 hours' sleep last night--I do best with 9--so we'll see how today goes.

Morning. I'm thinking about rewriting that tune from Fiddler on the Roof so it says "Revisions!" instead of "tradition!"

Yes, I got a revision handed back to me for another two weeks to hopefully be done with it at least for another month? I can hope?

On the one hand, I asked for a lot of editing. On the other hand, I don't like it. LOL.

Yes!  You should do this.

Morning.  Ugh it's Monday.

We're back to class this week.  I'm sure it's going to be fun with people showing up who never registered.  It's not a totally unusual situation but given the number of people who showed up while we were closed last week, even just the ones I know about who showed up during the times I happened to be here, I think its going to be worse than usual.

I also just found out another one of my teachers is leaving the end of January.  This is the teacher I had last year, so she was my first hire.  She's amazing with the younger kids and I already knew she was cutting down next school year.  But her kids are having some serious mental health challenges that she needs to put her energy towards so she's leaving after the current session.  She will be very hard to replace.  Not just because it's hard to find someone right now, but because she is so wonderful and such an amazing teacher.    If things settle down, she may continue with a class or two but I can't count on that.

It's going to be a long week.  Thankfully we are off again already next week since it's Thanksgiving week and we take off full weeks for holidays (to keep classes on the same schedule).

Good morning!  It's The Queen's favorite day!

JJM!  ❤️ You stopped by!! Just in time for a Monday!

I've been making phone calls and setting schedules like gangbusters this morning.  Not really, but I DID make 2 (TWO!) phone calls, left a voicemail message, and registered online for a thing.  Also I put together a Christmas gift for dd23, ordered a new violin A string for dd15, and got dressed.

Coffee!

I need to get the rest of Matt's tools and design business cards. He might legally be able to work in his field this week or next. MIL has already sent her flying monkeys out (Matt's cousins) to find out how much money he expects to make. I expect this to be a long term problem.

You'll just have to sigh and say that all the money goes into tools and business cards. So sad. Lol.

The weird thing is that she gets these ideas in her head that we have all this money (we have never had all this money) and then holds it against us for not giving her tons of cash. In the rare instance that he's only had one job it was "Well, why don't you get another job? I have two jobs." Like he's supposed to spend more time away from us so she can buy more crap. And that's what she's going to want to say now but they're kinda estranged and I don't know what that's going to entail, but I know it's going to drive her crazy. She's always been financially enmeshed with everyone and it just kills her we don't do that. When we were talking she probably brought up once a month that she really needed to be on our bank account. I can't believe the stuff I put up with looking back.

Morning, Happy Tuesday.

Today should be a better day.  I'm still sad my teacher is leaving but I have two and a half months to deal with it and things could change.   Dh thinks we should just cut down on classes and leave it be for now but we'll lose a lot of students due to siblings in simultaneous classes, so I don't think that's a good plan.   Plus it seems flaky.

I slept pretty well last night for the first time in a while.  I went to bed earlier than usual and slept straight through until 5:30 or so, then dozed until 7-ish.    I feel fairly well rested.

Today I have one younger class but not as young as yesterday.  Yesterday I had a preschool group of 2 1/2 (emphasis on the 2 in some cases) to 5 year olds.  Today I have K-2nd graders so should be a little bit easier.   My favorite classes are tween/teens so those ones are rough for me.

Good morning!

I woke up extra early and finally dozed off just as my alarm went off.  I brought pup on his morning constitutional and we ran into one off dd18's college friends at the park and pup went crazy with excitement.  Zoomies all over the place!

I have to go see a lung specialist today so he can tell me there is nothing wrong with my lung.  Other than that it's a pretty normal Tuesday.

Coffee!
