Wheres Toto
We're still looking at properties to move into a bigger space. I really liked the one we already looked at but it would need a lot of work - floors, ceiling, paint - and they seem to want to do credit rather than paying for it. We don't have the money to put out for supplies, etc even if it gets us a few months off rent. We're still waiting to hear back from the realtor though, so it could still work. I called about another property yesterday and that realtor is going to get us a report of properties that might work for us. That should be faster than me searching. 2
Junie
Good Morning! Happy Sunday! I told the kids that we had to do online church today because of the snow. Since we've been doing online church since March because of COVID, they just grinned and were like, OK. I have discovered that I live in a house full of introverts, myself included. 3
KrissiK
Good Morning!!!! COFFEE!!!!~D Sunday!!! Church!!⛪️ No snow here, so we’re going. We are all fairly introverted here, too, Junie, except oldest DD, but I like going to church. I just don’t want to have to talk with anyone. 🤣. DH does have to stay home. His work regulations are such that he can’t go. I’ve been looking for new recipes. When I try to lose weight I end up getting really narrow in my food choices and then I get bored and then I quit. Through calorie counting, portion control and upping my exercise I have slowly managed to take off 10 lbs. which I am happy about, but then o started getting bored and things started to tank. So, this weekend I am looking for ways to change up breakfasts. I found a crock pot oatmeal recipe that I am trying this morning. It looks good and smells good, so here’s hoping...

Then when I uncheck the items, they go neatly back into their proper place, ordered according to the aisles of Aldi, where they wait to be amongst the chosen once again. Susan in TN
Christmas is all put away. Dh is fixing the kitchen cabinet door that broke the week after we moved in, almost 12 years ago. Critterfixer
Morning. Pulling another night shift. I can hear dogs and cats snoring, which is annoying. I wish I was snoring. My dog has had trouble all week, but I got the diagnosis on Saturday. She's diabetic. Kind of unusual as she's not really that old (around eight) but it is what it is. Until she's regulated, I guess I'm up nights. Plus she started a higher fiber food, and that's made predicting when she needs to go out a little tricky. It's not too horrible, but I'll be glad when she's settled out and I can go back to sleeping at night.

I was getting up to feed him every three hours around the clock. I would set an alarm clock during the night. It was so hard! Of course this was different than diabetes. I hope that he can get regulated soon.
Jean in Newcastle
Agility report! Juliet got so excited when I got out my agility vest and started to fill the pockets with training treats. 🙂 She remembered all the commands from before without a hitch. In fact, she was so confident right from the start that she was actually running through the course with me running behind trying to keep up! She still has to get a bit more firm on a few obstacles but I felt like we didn't even have a break, she just picked it right up where we left off. Of the six dogs in the class, four of them were veterans of agility class and two were newbies. Juliet was happy to see Amelia the basset hound again. They like each other. Jean in Newcastle
PS - Juliet is such a powerful dog that I can barely control her even with her prong collar. So my neighbor (dog trainer and dog boarding person) showed me how to loop her leash under her tummy. Amazingly, this has cured her from pulling and even keeps her from general bad manners. I have to make a phone call today - trying to get the remaining funds from and close a small college fund account for dd22, but somehow it just is not happening. Susan in TN
Did I tell you about the graduation trip we have planned for dd18? (In lieu of the Oxford creative writing class that isn't happening.) We're going to fly into Las Vegas, see a bit of the strip, then drive to Lake Powell (taking the scenic route through Zion) and stay at the resort there a couple days, lounge about the pool and beach, and maybe do a bit of kayaking and see Antelope Canyon if the Navajo Nation is open. Then drive back, toodle along the Las Vegas strip a bit more before our flight home. I am not super excited about it for her particularly because it doesn't involve anything that she is really interested in - creative writing, drawing/art, music, etc., but I think it will be at least interesting and different from anywhere she's been, and won't involve any serious hiking, and it's affordable, and I feel fairly confident that Things will be open and generally available and we won't have to cancel again.

Susan in TN
I'm confused about the frozen salmon filets I bought at Walmart. In big letters on the front of the package, it says "Wild Caught". But in tiny letters on the back, it says "This product comes from a fishery that has been independently certified...blah blah blah". On the side, it says "Wild caught, processed in China". So was it caught out in the wilds of a fish farm? That doesn't make me happy.

KrissiK
I finally finished one WWI book. It was very good, but hard to read. I picked up an Anne deCourcy book about the Curzon sisters. Like, better luck in March, y'all, because you are parked for February unless it gets really warm. App endorsement: Magic Home Inventory. I was cleaning out our first aid kit, etc. last weekend and came across a flyer from our insurance company advising that with a home inventory, even something partial/incomplete is very helpful. This app is free and has no ads and lets you be as general or specific as you want, include pictures if you want, etc.--you could upload a photo of a whole cabinet interior instead of listing item by item, for instance. I played with it for like an hour last night, which is an hour more than I've spent inventorying the house in the previous 15 years since we moved in.
Wheres Toto
How long can "PMS" last if you are in perimenopause? I've been cranky, edgy, somewhat weepy, craving sugar, salt, junk and just plain blah for weeks now. I had some spotting a week or so ago (I had an ablation so no real period). I've been blaming it on winter but it seems more than that. Or maybe I just forget what winter is like. I know at least once I seriously thought about getting a therapy light because winter makes me tired and blah, but the munching and weepy are things I don't remember. I'm worse with down time.
