You know, saying "ignore this thread" to this group is like saying "don't push the big red button!"

Homeschoolers.     They always think the rules don't apply to them.

Coming out of my long time lurking because I couldn't ignore this thread..  :leaving:

We had another lovely agility lesson.  Juliet did the tall dog walk today and got more and more confident.  In fact, she was so confident that I had to run to keep up with her!  She makes little happy barks when she's going over the jumps.  After we got home she was so affectionate - kind of like she was thanking me for such a fun time with her friends.

Good Morning!!!!

COFFEE!!!!~D

Monday!!😩😩😩

It is Thanksgiving Break, though. So, not a bad Monday. The kids convinced me to go to the zoo today, so I guess we will do that. I like our zoo. It is very nice and they have been doing a lot of renovations over the years, so it kind of seems more like an animal park than a traditional zoo.

Good morning!  It's The Queen's favorite day!!  Hi Ellie!

I'm not sure what kind of day it is.  We should be having school and also we should be taking the week off.  We've not had a real break since school started in August.  Some People may want to do some catchup work and I think we'll try to do storytime.

We finally have an appointment to finalize the mortgage refinance today.  Dd22 has an appointment with the eye doctor.  I have a mandolin lesson this afternoon.  There's a slow jam tonight that I may or may not make it to.

Right now I'm teasing the puppy with a light on the wall that's reflecting off my iPad and he's trying to chase.  Silly pup! 😁

Coffee!

No school for us this week. DS just decided to play a typing game anyway. 🤷‍♀️

BFF is using this week as a soft start for homeschooling, as her state is forcing schools open even as the National Guard is helping her city handle the overflow of bodies, so I have been consulting.

Kitty is bathing in the sunshine.

I remembered to take the turkey out of the freezer!

Next up: find the turkey drippings fat separater.  I know it's down in the pantry somewhere....

Dd11 and I are trying to decide if making 2 different sweet potato dishes is a ridiculous notion or not.  One is the traditional  baked sweet potatoes with pineapple and marshmallows, the other is roasted with cranberries.  It's too bad we only have 1 oven.  Maybe we can have the roasted ones another night.

Morning. I'm up, and walked. I've lost around six pounds walking this month. I just wish it didn't have to hurt so much. You'd think it would be easier now, and maybe it is, but I'm a whiny-whiner.

This week is the last for NaNoWriMo, and I've increased my word count per day to over 7000 as of last week. Hoping to stay at that level for the rest of this month and into December because I like it so much. I'm aiming for a goal of 120,000 words for this month, and I'm set to hit that today, so I guess I'll go for the big 150,000 instead.

Thanksgiving here is going to be steaks, potatoes, cranberry sauce, and a chocolate pie. We will got to an art museum with family on the Wednesday before (restricted number of people, all will wear masks, and we are taking our own lunches) and we will go see people on Thanksgiving Day, but no meals in other people's houses.

I am trying to decide if I should do my normal Monday resistance band/dumb bell workout. I didn’t at the last of last week because I was having some major muscle cramps in my shoulder blade area. I went to the chiropractor and even allowed a substitute chiropractor to adjust me. He didn’t hurt me but he didn’t really fix the problem either. I don’t really want to let Xena off the hook but I don’t want to injure myself. And I don’t want to go back even to my regular chiropractor right now because he’s been on vacation and might be a Walking Disease Vector. Decisions, decisions.

Turkey's out, house is clean, I did not poop out a zipper.

Other in law family members have Covid so they have to cancel their big Thanksgiving. Everyone is asymptomatic so far.

Are you sure?  That might explain some things....

Sorry about your in-laws.

🏆

The guy who did our refinance closing said this is the first year ever that he gets to have a couple days off to sit around and relax because all the usual family&friends Thanksgiving hoopla has been cancelled.

Reminding Chester of a rule that is especially important for anyone with the word "doodle" in his ancestry.

If it's not food, water, or ice, it does not go in your mouth!

I know - what is with them?!?  Sometimes we catch him with something in his mouth and he will trade it for a treat, but sometimes he tries to swallow it quick before we get a chance to pry his mouth open.  His obedience to the "drop it" command is pretty sporadic.

It reminds me of Elf eating gum off the subway railing.  🤢

London broil is in the crockpot. I guess that I can't broil it without a stove/oven.

Do you have a blowtorch?

Sorry to drop in so sporadically. Busy busy around here.

Thought you'd all get a kick out of Newbie wearing 2t PJs to bed tonight. Ran out of PJs and didn't have time to dry them before bedtime. They aren't even that big on him. Just a little long in the arms and legs. They're the stretchy long johns type.

Goodnight all!

I remember that my mom said my little brother wore size 2T when he was 3 months old.  My "little" brother in now 6'1".

Good morning!

Chester did not poop out any zippers or weird things this morning.  Yesterday when dh was walking him in the park, they came across another goldendoodle just a couple months older and dh took a video of them playing together.  So much happiness! 😊

I have to go to the store to buy some fresh vegetables and apples and a couple other things that I forgot the other day.  It amazes me that I can have a check list right in front of my eyeballs and still forget to buy things.

Dd11 is super excited to start cooking today. If I can get back home in time, I'd like to make those roast sweet potatoes and cranberries for lunch.

Coffee!

So we were debating Turkey vs duck.  DH came home with a turkey.  Decision made. He also bought boxed scalloped potatoes, jarred gravy, canned cranberry sauce, and pre-made pie crusts. He says to make it easier on me. Either he doesn’t get Thanksgiving or he hates my cooking. 🤣
