5 hours?!? What are you guys doing?

I went to Target and Kroger, made dinner/dessert, changed a wet child, and brooded over school.

I'm working on my ukulele sing-along booklet.  I'm taking out a couple songs snd looking for others to add.  I would move to Austin just to join their Ukulele Society.

I sat through an IEP and then went to the grocery store. I ran into my cousin there and we chatted a while. She’s a crack up.  They had flour at the grocery store, too. Yay!! Score!! And I went to the strawberry stand and got a bunch of berries. Yummy!

The virtual charter my kids participate in is hiring for a parent support specialist position. I think it will be a bit similar to what Krissi does. I'm gonna apply because it would be a super awesome job.

You go, girl!!  I like my job!!

I watched Guardians of the Galaxy by myself with poor quality speakers, deemed it acceptable, then watched it with the kids with higher quality speakers. They learned some new words.

Vocabulary building.

Good Morning!

Happy Tuesday!

More testing today.

I found out yesterday that our library has opened up its subscription to ancestry.com so that it can be used at home.  You may never see me again... (j/k)

Within minutes of opening it up last night I found out that my grandfather had a sister who died at age 3 days that we had never known about.  It happened long before he was born, so it's likely that he never knew about her either.

First cup of tea. Make of that what you will.

I had a good day at the lake yesterday, but it's time to get back to steady revising today. Also cleaning and reading to do, and getting a front flowerbed ready for some edible landscaping. I've been putting that off, and I'm liable to scare up some snakes today.

Morning.  Having my tea.  Changed up breakfast in the hopes it doesn't make me nauseous today.

I have one Algebra student today.   I did yoga for the first time in ages yesterday.  I think I need to get back to that.  I was feeling like I needed to do it in the morning but now I think I should just do it at whatever time I'm at the science center.     I have to head over in less than an hour and I think dh took my car this morning.  He had to run into work to pick up some readings off the HPLC.

I’m worried about getting him to write, though.

Three-year-olds are not supposed to write. They're supposed to make mud pies, unfasten things you'd rather keep fastened (like their clothes), and try out other motor skills like squeezing out the entire tube of toothpaste and painting on walls with the contents of their sandwich when you turn your back.

One of the things I love about my house is the big window facing the front. I can see everything that happens in the neighborhood. Like, right now, the lady across the street just got the mail. Something must be interesting because she is standing in the middle of her driveway opening something.  Our old house.. horrible street visibility.

Good Morning!!!,

COFFEE!!!!~D

Day!!!

School and work.

The citrus are in full bloom. I opened the door to let the cats in this morning and was about knocked over by orange blossom scent. It’s no wonder I feel like Dorothy in that poppy field..

Good morning!

Critter, I think your rain is headed here.

I went to Kroger instead of Aldi for weekly shopping this morning, and you would not believe all the TP they had!  TWO different brands - in mega packs!  And 6 different hand soaps!  I found 2 different flavors of Lara bars that don't contain cashews.

The banjolele refirb is coming along.  Apparently instruments made "way back when" had different sized tuning peg holes and such, so dh is having to do a bit of jerry-rig-luthiering.

Coffee!

I dug rocks and remade one spot. It looks terrible because the old plant  stub is still in there. I have neither tools nor strength to rip it out. I think I’m going to go with copying my last house’s yard but flipping it because this bed is already wide on the left side. I’m probably going to skip the tall plants in the back, too. This is not a big bed or house. I think too many plants will overwhelm it.
Priority for this year is front and side yard rock dug up/redistributed, trees trimmed, grass growing, and bed reshaped. I’m not sure if I will have time to get plants in before it’s so hot they die. The bed now is like a hill- low in front than high than low again towards the house. I thought draining was supposed to be away from the house? What can I do about the ivy from the neighbors yard that is taking over one side of mine?

Impressive!  I would have to live somewhere 20 or 30 years before I would decide to work that hard on the yard, lol.  🤣

I changed Oldest's English assignment and threw down a challenge. The lesson was on describing a person and had questions/helps to guide the student. I challenged him to describe someone we know and offered a reward for following the lesson's guidelines if I could guess who he described. DH and I both laughed when we read his description. He described ME! He included my eye color, exact age, and that I'm pregnant. 🤣

I bet he really liked the competitive angle!  Way to go!

I’d tell them to trim it back or I will.  Then I’d (jokingly) make sure they knew I have really crappy old tools that will probably spread a fungus to their ivy, so they are better off doing themselves if they like their ivy.

Then I would put up a barrier of some sort to prevent further spread.

My Amazon wishlist is getting insanely long thanks to all my research on books today. I'd love to use our library when the time comes, but have learned from experience that they next to never have what I want when I want it IF they have it at all. Plus, I can see wanting these on our bookshelf long term for when the youngers are older. Some are books I haven't read and am looking forward to, as well. Funny how that works.

My Amazon wishlist is always crazy long 😄

It’s a really old couple. I’m going to kill it on my side. Any tricks I should know? What kind of barrier stops ivy? This stuff is popping the fence boards at the bottoms.

Concrete? Stone wall? Flame thrower every weekend for 30 seconds?

Good morning!

I'm with you, Spudz.  I heard a game being played on the radio called "What Day Is It" and the caller has to say what day it is.  😁

So dh wants me to make alternate Plans for the Great Western Road Trip, just in case.  The Great Smokey Mountains would be a logical choice, except its not West.  Any ideas?  California is too far, I think, though we're currently going as far as AZ.  Must involve (car) camping and hiking.  State or national parks are ideal.

I have been awake since 4am with this stuck in my head.

Coffee!

Good Morning!!!!!

COFFEE!!!!!!

Day!!!  I feel like I am living in one of those dystopian societies. I hate that there is no future. There’s nothing. I was talking last night to a very old friend and we were wanting to get together with another old friend, but the conversation was very bizarre because we couldn’t make any plans. We all live kind of far apart now and I was suggesting lunch somewhere in the middle this fall, but even then.... the future isn’t just hazy anymore. It’s not there.
