I thought they rented them, but only found the ones for purchase. Is it worth it? Will it get rid of the horrible smell in the girls' room? This one is the smallest and cheapest that AFSA had - is it worth it? https://www.amazon.com/BISSELL-2003T-Cordless-Portable-Cleaner/dp/B07FFJB75H/ref=asc_df_B07FFJB75H/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=241975683571&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7276837995568810416&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=200527&hvtargid=pla-522141934786&psc=1 No, that won't get it clean. The two carpet cleaners we are considering, based on reviews, are the Bissell ProHeat 2x Lift-off Pet 15651 and the Hoover Dual Power Max Pet FH51001. The Hoover is only $150. I suspect we're going to end up just renting units--it's only $30 a pop to rent + chemicals, and you don't have to store the carpet cleaner in-between uses. If you have a horrible smell, I'm guessing you've got bacteria in the pad. You might try an enzymatic cleaner first, and a good solid airing.

Another Lynn
Prairie, that was almost my exact conclusion - I looked at that Bissell and a cheaper Hoover and decided I didn't have room to store something I would rarely use. The smell is vomit-smell that hasn't gone away inspite of all my other cleaning attempts. So, next up is the rented carpet cleaner! 2
Susan in TN
My ears are having major plugginess. It's not uncommon for me, but normally they get congested later in the day and/or when I've been talking a lot. This morning they were clogged from the get-go. I don't want to take anything before tonight's quartet gig because I am going to be sight-reading music for a couple hours and don't want to risk having a foggy head. Shopping is done for the morning, but dd12 needs me to take her to a store later. We *could* do it tomorrow - I'm so tired of going out! 3

You need something to break down those proteins. Nature's Miracle and Bac-Out are the two we turn to for vomit stains. And, then, yes a good carpet cleaning will help afterwards.

KrissiK
Ugh!! I think I am going to throw up. I was just at the bank, wiring $ for closing escrow. Big sums of money. I want to throw up. I hate dealing with big sums of money. Especially of they are going to someone else. And the stupid bank charges $20 for the wire transfer. And it had to be wired because it’s a credit union and they don’t do cashier’s checks. So I took their pen. Just my little way of sticking it to them for charging me $20. 2 2
Ellie
Workers.are.still.here. They didn't come at all on Monday and Tuesday. o_0 We took out a home equity loan to pay for the stuff that wasn't included in the insurance claim, and we won't have quite enough $$ to pay for everything, which is ok, because we can cover it. Things will be tight for a minute, but it will be ok, thanks be to God. 🙂 Possibly I can put up the Christmas tree this weekend. And I'm thinking about doing a Christmas tea next Friday (after Christmas, before the New Year, still in the Christmas season). I can't think of anything I want for Christmas, because we did some things at Disneyland we don't usually do (anniversary dinner at the Blue Bayou, breakfast with the adult offspring at Goofy's Kitchen), and I picked up some goodies for myself, so I'm good to go for at least six months. 🙂 It's very hard to buy for Mr. Ellie. He appreciates all our efforts, but he has such specific *likes,* and he rarely talks about them such that we can say "AHA! Now we know what to get him!" So I might just fall back on a nice dress shirt and tie (yes, he still wears dress shirts and ties). IDK. Wednesday free-range ramblings. 🙂

We have learned a lot more about blood sugar and how our diet affects our hormones since Atkins became a thing. Heck, my mother-in-law finished nursing school like four years ago and she thinks that me not eating bread is the worst decision I've ever made and I'm going to gain a hundred pounds because I'm going to eat too much fat and protein. I think that if most doctors we're up to date with new knowledge and Adkins was just now introduced they'd be all for it.

Because of my Hashimoto's and its related hypothyroid-low metabolism thing, I don't lose weight on Atkins, but I can maintain it (I did Weight Watchers for a year, faithfully, and lost a whopping 25lb, and I've been able to maintain that loss with Atkins). Also, it's a great way to eat for people who have celiac, so there's that.
Slache
My house is a wreck, my back is a wreck and my husband is a wreck. I can't wait for next week when he's off so we can get some of this chaos under control. I'm giving up my push-up challenge for the year and going for the same thing next year because my back just can't take it. Next year I'll start sometime before November. My reading goal was 26 books and I will finish before the end of the year. Thinking of next year's goals. 2,019 pushups, 26 books. 2,019 miles is too many, 2,019 pounds could work but it would be in the wrong direction. I think saving $2,019 could be cool but we have no idea if it's feasible or not. Idears?
