Wally just knocked over the step stool (collapsed flat and leaning against the kitchen wall) and kept going with it taking a ride. Silly robot.

I've heard that cats riding on robot vacuums is A Thing.

Do you have a cat? Maybe you could teach it since Wally doesn't seem to mind having a passenger.

My jerk cat tried to kill me today. I was trying to give him the medicine that makes him less of a jerk and he lured me closer and closer to the stairs. Then the murderous fiend bolted down those stairs taking me with him. I fell like a 2 year old, hitting every step and rolling the whole way.

But he didn’t succeed and now we aren’t friends. He won’t even take treats or catnip from me like I’m the one who tried to kill him! I have a few nasty bruises and my back hurts but considering the fall, it’s amazing how undead I am.

And this was after Baby didn’t sleep last night until 7:30am today, and before Starbucks wouldn’t give me my cherry mocha, DD insisted on getting in trouble, and a defective water bottle leaked and made it look like I peed my pants in public. 😢 It hasn’t been the best day.

Back from art. Much paint was splashed on paper, and good fun was had by all. My new apple picture is coming along nicely and everyone got a kick out of the apples to peppers painting story.

ETA: It's a Paint-Po Booyah!

We need to have an gallery on the Island, just for your art.

Go Critter! It’s yo birthday! Woot woot! *imagine me doing the cabbage patch*

I may or may not have danced around the room squealing after I recovered from the shock.

ETA: Requestabooyah!

I got a request in my box,

I jumped clean out of both my sox,

I sent the pages out the gate,

Now I get to write and wait.

You deserve some chocolate and wine and a hot bath.

Ds10 just came in the room after his bath. He said, "You know, I might not mature when I turn 11, but you know what I hope I DO get? A growth spurd!"

Yes, he said spurd.

It might feel that way. My boys wore one size of shoe last fall. Now that's getting too tight. They are getting so big. I thought I was going to have until sixteen to look down at them, but I think they might catch me sometime this year.

I placed a grocery order for tomorrow, including fried chicken and sides from the deli. Now I don't have to go inside and I also don't have to cook tomorrow. This curbside pickup is my favorite thing ever.

I need new sneakers. One of the puppies went Chewy on mine.

I also randomly decided to capsule my wardrobe today.

What does it mean to capsule your wardrobe?

Thanks, you guys. I love you a bunch, and I'm so thankful for this place.

Does anyone now how to get smoke smell out? My dad smokes, and the apartment smells terrible.

Nope.

My kids signed up for lacrosse tonight! WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME.

(It's like hoarding... I grew up watching other kids play sports and do stuff and I can't say no to my own kids... it's just wrong. But lacrosse looks so cool!)

In my one year of high school, I was exposed to a variety of sports for the entertainment of those in charge. The only thing I could do was run, and then it took a minimum of a mile before I was really ready to run. Then they gave us about three days of field hockey. The mild-mannered runner discovered she had a latent savage streak with a weapon in hand. I think I would have had a hard time saying no to lacrosse.

Good Morning!  It's Friday!

Oldest ds called me last night and we talked for more than half an hour.   :001_wub:   He's planning to come home this weekend for FOOD.   :D   (Poor thing, he's probably coming to the wrong place, lol.)

Youngest has some water in her ear that won't come out.  We tried peroxide, heating pad and a decongestant.  (She needed the decongestant for her cold symptoms anyway, but didn't want to take it previously.)

Dh has drill this weekend, out of town, so I'll be filling his roll as basketball parent for 12yo ds - his team has their "conference" tournament this weekend - tonight and All.Day.Saturday.

He came to Dad's yesterday and we talked. I caved. We're home. It's probably a mistake to believe him, but maybe he is taking this seriously? I probably sound like a fool. Maybe I am one. Please don't hate me.

:grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:   I certainly don't hate you and I understand going back.  I probably would have gone sooner.  Others will have better advice than I do.  Hold him to the counseling.  We love you and we're here for you.

Sorry I can't apply to your job opening, I seemed to have already signed up for a similar position and it comes with a contract that requires I stay in it until the children are grown.

Good morning! It's Friday!

Beautiful weather for today! Sunny and low 60's!

I have a volunteer thing at church this morning (just a few minutes) and need to stop by the library on the way and a birthday celebration for Choir Boy at the trampoline place. The mom has paid for me to jump, so I will have to participate in the fun. :D

My kids signed up for lacrosse tonight! WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME.

!)

See, I think the issue is that your kids are not sheltered enough. Why do they know what lacrosse is? Why do they know what any of these activities are? We are homeschoolers, for heaven's sake! :D (((Tsuga))) You clearly need a driver. Anyone know if Jeeves is available?

Coffee!

I upped my step goal from 3000 to 6000 steps. I have gone through some really bad fibro flares in the last month because of it. Conventional medical opinion is that you should slow down and rest if you have a flare. (Which I have always done in the past) but this time I gritted my teeth and walked anyway.

Also I am testing my bloodsugar 5x a day. Fasting and two hours post prandial for three meals and one snack. I have been making food choices based on my bloodsugar numbers. My numbers have been coming down.

I have also been stocking up on those “Sargento Balanced Break†snacks with are a small amount of cheese and trail mix for snacks. It’s premeasured for me and includes protein.

Hooray for improvements!  I often will get those same Sargento thingies to take along as small meals when I need to eat at a DD's activity (like long art days or long Aikido evenings).

I funeraled yesterday.  I hate funerals, but I show up because it matters to the loved ones of the deceased.  The wife of the deceased is my friend whom I haven't seen in several months since our schedules simply haven't coordinated.  When she's ready we will get together again.

This is the first time I have also participated in the long line of cars following the hearse to the cemetery.  In other states where I lived the hearse and a few funeral home vehicles containing closest family were escorted, but not all of the rest of the attendee's vehicles.  Most everyone stopped and pulled over to the shoulder, even the traffic on the other side of the (not divided) road.  We did have one very short incident that left me wondering -- an ambulance with lights and sirens went past going the other way.  The rules here are everyone (going in both directions, unless the road is divided) pulls over for ambulances, and it seems to be the same rule for funerals processions.  Our procession didn't pull over (and it was led by a police car) and neither did the ambulance -- we just all kept driving.  I will have to inquire further as to what is expected in such situations.

Since DD13 went to Aikido last night and was thinking of staying for both classes (kids' and adults') I stopped on my way home and picked up Arby's for DD16 and me.  DH and DD13 ended up not staying that late at Aikido, and got their own supper on the way home.

Starting at bedtime last night my gut started complaining.  I have been vehemently refusing to get sick since before we left CO.  This might be an objection to last night's supper, or it might be me starting to succumb to something (now that I have a little more time to spare).  This morning my gut is unhappy, I have nothing in the house I actually want to eat, and I feel like someone kicked me in a kidney.

We are supposed to have Park Day today (a Valentine's Day one), and light rain possible during it.  Tomorrow is now predicted to get quite stormy.  I told the kids this morning we need to start having class time again, but I don't wanna.  I might assign them stuff I want them looking at over the weekend, leave them to the rest, and curl up on the sofa.

I wish I had some homemade chicken noodle soup, with Grandma Dommie noodles (a recipe in DH's family, for handmade noodles).

PPS for Angi. The stoopid bone broth might be helping with the weight too because I drink it (yes, still) at night and the high protein might keep my sugars stable overnight.

I have some store-bought bone broths/stocks in the pantry.  Maybe I can mock up some soup from those.  I have some good veggies to put in it....
