The only thing that works for me when I've been glutened is to go on a liquid diet for 3 or 4 days.  Not fun.   :(

I'm seldom that bad. One to two days is usually as bad as I get, and I load the Benedryl and the Vitamin C. I'll be wiped out and grumbling a lot, though.

ETA: It's an "I will survive!" Booyah!

Did the doc say when it should go back to its usual spot?  Did you tell him it hurts to move?

It is back. I pushed it back right when it happened. It was all very  :scared:. He says it's all normal.

I got accidentally glutened today by a treat that I didn't inspect thoroughly. Here's hoping I don't have to pay too much for my sin.

All the hugs and detox remedies for you.

http://time.com/3819112/annegret-raunigk-quadruplets/

She has 13 children. She is 21 weeks along in her pregnancy. She will be the oldest mother of quadruplets. :)

Update on this story from page 41 - link (in German):

https://www.welt.de/vermischtes/article164715656/Wie-es-der-67-jaehrigen-Vierlingsmutter-und-ihren-Kindern-heute-geht.html

The quadruplets turned 2 today. If I'm reading correctly (I haven't read much German in the last decade+) they were 15 weeks premature, and are mostly fine, other than some mild eye problems. Though I'm a little confused, because the article did say just before that that one of the kids needed to be operated on right away, and that another one had a brain hemorrhage and needs some sort of something (pressure vent?) to deal with that, but I guess those things are non-issues? Maybe I should use Google translate. Regardless, I can't imagine dealing with four 2yos at 67yo...  :svengo:

For some reason, this tickled my fancy tonight...

DW: "What strange corner of the internet did you find tonight?" (she'd noticed me watching the Scottish sword dance thing earlier as well). And then she misunderstood me and thought I said this thread was started 3 days ago and has 1890 pages (I said this thread was started 3 days after I joined this board). After explaining some more (I may have mentioned the words "stream of consciousness"), she said some anthropologist will be very interested in this thread at some point in the future and write a dissertation about it.

I just got home from picking DS6 up from 'ninja night' at his karate studio. I thought 'ninja night' meant they were all going to dress in black and assassinate someone, but apparently it meant pizza and dodgeball.

I can only stay for a minute. My friend from California is here; tomorrow is our ho'ike (recital). She goes home Sunday evening. With any luck I'll be able to post more on Monday. Love you all.

Dh and I had a date tonight. Just a dessert date. Difficult DS had a school dance, so we had dinner at home and then took him to the dance, put the rest of the kids in front of the electronic babysitter with bowls of ice cream and used up the rest of our Baskin Robbins gift card. We were only gone a little more than an hour, but it sure felt nice to get away. I had this new kind of cookie dough ice cream in a waffle cone. It was very good.

Peeee-yew!!!! We live about a quarter mile from the river and there are critters down there. Tonight something scare a skunk!! I'm closing all the windows and I am not very happy about it, since it is delightfully cool outside, but that skunk smell is potent!!

"Saturday"

I think there needs to be a different name for the day after Friday where your dh still has to go to work and you have a ton of cleaning to do.

Welp, I guess I'd better put on my big girl panties and get started.

Good morning!

Yay for sleeping in!

Today is dd18's graduation ceremony and reception at the home school tutorial. We are using ds21's diploma because dd won't get hers for another couple of weeks. I think I'll insert a piece of paper with "A + + + + + + +" written in red marker. Dd will recognize it from Ralphie's daydream in The Christmas Story.

Slachey! Duct tape!

Coffee!

Go enter it manually.  Give extra credit for the extra work of pushing the bike -- that should count as resistance exercise on top of the milage.

I am outta likes, but thank you!!!

I'll let him know that he should be able to do this if he ever needs to again.

I'm lounging in my sweats on my first day of summer vacation. What am I thinking about? My next Rainbow Resource order. It's a curse, this homeschool thing.

Same here.  Well, not Rainbow Resource, as I did that last week, but I'm writing out my Documents to Print This Summer list.

I've spent more time making the list look pretty than actually doing the dirty work of dredging up files, though.   :D

I know, right?? My poor Dh had to go to work, too, at the crack of dark this morning. I felt so sorry for him.

Good Morning!!!!

COFFEE!!☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸

DH is at work. I have a Cut-and-Color at 11:00 and a bunch of pictures of a chin length Bob to show my hair dresser.

This afternoon DS is having a bunch of boys from his class over to work on a video they are supposed to make for his history class. I am dreading this. They are all nice kids and I know all the reasons why I should have his friends over, blah blah blah, which is why I bought a couple of 2-liters of soda and some chips and will put on a nice smile and do my best to be a great mom-hostess. But, the reality is, having a bunch of kids over completely stresses me out.

The 6 and 2yo old are patting and kissing my fat tummy and pretending it's a baby. 🙄

Tell them it's all their leftover clutter and junk from when you were carrying them in there.  They didn't clean up their toys, and now you have to figure out how to purge them.

I understand they are negotiating with a big-named actress to play the part of KrissiK. I have no idea who that would be, since I am completely out of touch with pop culture, but anyhow....

Dd is counting how many times I complain. So in an effort to make my point that I hardly ever complain, I have been stingy with my complaints. But then today I came across a rash of idiot drivers.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Talking at the idiot drivers, whom you know can't hear you at all, is a way of venting frustration in the immediate moment so it won't continue to distract you in later minutes.  This, therefore, does NOT count as complaining because it is a stress- and distraction-management technique that can be deployed for quick effect while doing the critical multi-tasking that is driving.  She might not understand this until SHE is driving around and has to deal with all of the idiot drivers.

I'm grumpy and just told my cat to "leave me alone, already. ".

I wasn't at all gentle last night as I was shifting about trying to get to sleep.  My cat not only decided she HAD to sleep on top of me, every time I shifted to relieve some spot jabbed by her elbow or something she shifted to make sure other spots were getting jabbed just as hard.  My feet started coming into play.  Either she was going to move to the corner at the foot of the bed or she was going to get off.

Sometimes she decides to sleep on my chest if I am on my back, or beside me and right in my face if I am on my side.  When she does that I wrap both arms around her to hug and cuddle.  She hates that -- doesn't like being confined or restricted.  She quickly moves away, purring to reassure me she still loves me but can't tolerate the clinginess.

I I'm lucky she will either remember her big bed manners, or she will go back to her blankets on the foot of DD12's bed.

She's a hive member who left. She had a very difficult time making a point and people thought she was a female dog, but she was quite nice.

Infinity points for you if you read every last post.

And you SHOULD read every last post, btw.  Everyone should.  Your dc's classical education will suffer embarrassing gaps if you don't.

I made it to this post on page 51, so I'm going to claim infinity points now. When I make it to the end of the thread, I'm going to claim the additional 5 gazillion points I was promised.

I was going to say Sigourney Weaver but then I looked at how old she is now and that's way too old for you.

We all know I'm being played by Kim Kardashian with a potato head glued to her face and voiceover by Anne Hathaway.

The news last night had a story about some flight somewhere in which a passenger tried to get into the cockpit during the flight.  Passengers helped to subdue the guy and DUCT TAPED him to a seat.

Ah, the many uses of duct tape!

Okay, she needs to get with me.  As the embedded anthropologist I can give valuable insight into the mindset of the natives.
