mommyof3blessings
Do any of you have experience with the Easy for Me reading program? My daughter (almost 7) is a very visual learner and is struggling to learn to read with phonics-based programs.

clementine
It looks a bit spendy to me, but I'm a penny-pincher. Can I ask what program you've tried?
mommyof3blessings
We did MFW and Reading Eggs for kindergarten. This year, we did CLE Learning to Read until December and it was just too much--moved way too fast for her. So now, we are doing Explode the Code and Bob books.
clementine
We started with Reading Made Easy by Bendt & continued on with Pathway Readers through 8th grade.
ElizabethB
I would try adding these charts to your phonics program, the small charts are a good size for a homeschool. https://www.phonovisual.com/products.php?c=
ElizabethB
A good book to teach OG and multi sensory techniques much cheaper is Recipe for Reading. You can also use it as a phonics program if you write out the lists on a white board, which I like to do with my struggling students, it helps them focus on the words and the L to R direction of blending, they watch you write them from L to R. http://www.amazon.com/Recipe-Reading-Revised-Expanded-Traub/dp/0838805051/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425615745&sr=8-1&keywords=Recipe+for+reading Also, the book that goes with the Phonovisual charts has some good ideas and is free online to view from archive.org. https://archive.org/details/phonovisualmetho00scho

ElizabethB
Read, Write, Type is a good online computer program that moves at their pace and teaches well. Also, a fun free program that uses a lot of pictures and multi-sensory ideas is Pollard. The manual has a lot of good ideas. You can either work through both the Speller and Reader or use the First Book for Little Folk, it is a combined book. Both are linked from my page of good phonics books: http://www.thephonicspage.org/On%20Reading/phonicsandspelli.html

Did you sign up for reading eggs as a teacher or parent? I am looking at trying it for my kindergartener but don't see a homeschooler option...
