Seasider
We know a passel of kids graduating this spring. But I can't afford to give extravagantly to so many. I need ideas for items that are thoughtful yet inexpensive. Ideas appreciated!
school17777
My dd asked for a Vera Bradley shower caddy. I got one for her and fory niece who is also graduating. I will add other things they may need at school. No idea for my Ds. Oh, except maybe one of those pen things that takes notes.
unsinkable
These are replies from an older thread: Could you make towels into coverups by folding down the edge and adding elastic? Wrap it up with a pretty shower gel? It would work for boys or girls and be nice for dorms. Or a laundry bag, sample detergent and a roll of quarters? Again for dormers. Or a coupon for a care package if they are going away. You could plan on sending it a few weeks into school and shop for bargain and sale stuff in the mean time. Candy, snacks, ramen, tea, etc. Or homemade cookies and brownies...that would be frugal. A couple more: An umbrella Tool kit
Kareni
For college bound students, I've been known to give a copy of Rodale's The Synonym Finder. Regards, Kareni
Caroline
Get one of his/her high school t-shirts from mom and make into a pillow. Just need a cheap pillow form from a craft store. Takes about 10 minutes to make. Use the bottom of the t-shirt (the hemmed part) for the back, then you really only have to sew around the outside edges because it is already hemmed.
