Kiara.I
How timely! Guess which chapter we're on in SOTW 1? (I still want to do the clay ones, because I think comparing them to the paper scrolls under weather conditions is very cool, but I am sure the kids will not object to doing *two* kinds of cuneiform...) IsabelC
We did that a few years ago except with chocolate cookie dough. The kids really enjoyed it.
Hunter
This would be a useful lesson for any student struggling with phonics. Many students that struggle with math and phonics only see the subject as drudgery and failure. Making sure to frequently reintroduce the topic of early writing and asking the student whether phonics is a discovery or a creation seems to help. And cookie making is always a welcome activity. Thanks! This is a good idea to use when a student is crying in frustration over a phonics lesson, to refocus them.
