Hikin' Mama
Today, for the first time in my life, I entered a Hobby Lobby. I about went nutsoid! There is so much cool stuff there. But because of my super duper willpower (ha ha ha!) I only bought two items, not including the two for my daughter-in-law, which is why I went there in the first place. I'm glad I don't have one near where I live. Or maybe I'm sad I don't have one. I haven't decided yet. :)
Mimm
Yeah, I have one less than five minutes away in normal traffic. And my new favorite fabric shop is even closer.
Mommy22alyns
We are getting one in our little bitty town sometime next year! My crafty friend and I are so excited to not have to drive 45 minutes to Michael's anymore!
Seasider
If you have a smartphone, they have an online coupon that you can just show the cashier (on your device) for a 40% discount on nonsale items.
jenn-
Yeah, I have one less than five minutes away in normal traffic. And my new favorite fabric shop is even closer. I would be in big trouble it that was the case here. I have to be willing to drive 20ish minutes each direction or just wait until I am back in town. Lady Marmalade
:) The first time I walked into a Hobby Lobby I was in there for hours. And then I filled out a job application while I was still there. Happened that I turned it into the manager and we had an interview right there and I walked out with a management position. Great place to shop, even better place to work at. However, a seriously good portion of my paychecks stayed in the store. All the crafting hobbies I learned while I worked there... TammyinTN
I'll be 5 minutes from HL when we move on January 1st....I'm totally excited about this.
happypamama
Yeah, we got one a few months ago, but I hadn't been in it until last week, when I went because ACMoore didn't have what I wanted. But HL did, and then some. I think I will frequent them more. :)
alisoncooks
Can I say I've never been to Hobby Lobby?! I have a friend in another city that always raves about it...maybe I should stop by next time I'm driving through. We always go to AC Moore...is it that much better?
Guest
Never pay full price at HL!! Everything in that store rotates on sale. If you see something you like, wait a week.
Rachel
My budget appreciated it when I moved 30 minutes away, I used to be 5 minutes. It was very hard on the budget.
MariannNOVA
We have one about 30 minutes from us. I went for the first time about two weeks ago. I was totally awed, and I had to just walk around slowly, looking at everything, and getting my bearings. I was there for the second time a few days ago, and it was an excellent experience again. I can run in and out of Michael's in 5 minutes, but I am not sure I would ever be able to do that at HL.
Hikin' Mama
Never pay full price at HL!! Everything in that store rotates on sale. If you see something you like, wait a week. The items I bought were 50 % off. I noticed that most items in the store were on sale. :)

BigMamaBird
I have a serious love affair with Hobby Lobby! Everyone is so nice there and the atmosphere and layout is very calm and peaceful. It's a relaxing place to be. I love Joann's and all, but it seems so cluttered and busy there and I always get an attitude from the folks at Michael's. Susan in TN
Did you find their clearance yarn bin? Oh yes, Hobby Lobby is a dangerous place, my friend.
Guest
I love Hobby Lobby, Michael's, and Joanne's. :)
Amy in NH
I've never been in one, and I know I never will. I do like me some Joann's and AC Moore though.
Cinder
Can I say I've never been to Hobby Lobby?! I have a friend in another city that always raves about it...maybe I should stop by next time I'm driving through. We always go to AC Moore...is it that much better? We don't have AC Moore here but I find I prefer Joann to HL. We have a spot where HL, Joann and Michaels are within a 5 minute walk of each other so it's easy to visit them all in one trip. Sometimes HL had what I'm looking for but I'm usually yarn shopping and at least here Joann has better selection and prices. I guess it depends what you're looking for as to which store is better. Georgiana Daniels
Jealous! I wish we had one here but we only have Joann's and Michael's. Much better selection at HL.
FriedClams
100x better than AC Moore. Cleaner. Nice. Amazing sales. Great selection. Yeah, I drink HL Kool aid. :-)
Slartibartfast
My AC Moore is plenty clean and nice. That is probably related to the age of the individual stores. I will go to other craft stores before Hobby Lobby, there are several in my area. If I do go I buy things on sale or use a coupon.
