lovinmomma
Has anyone had any experience with Nessy? It looks very intriguing, but I was wanting to hear from someone that had experience using it. www.nessy.com I've been having a little trouble getting some of their webpages to load correctly, but the apps look pretty fun! PeterPan
I just tried it on him. It uses british pronunciation even though I selected USA when I entered the site. The vowel sounds are off (/o/) and the way they pronounce the final consonants is different. He liked it, but for someone with a speech issue and dyslexia it can't be appropriate. :( Their concept is great. They just should have redone the recordings with an american. Dmmetler
My daughter used the Nessy typing program, and loved it. It was very calm and encouraging (and I think she finds the accent somewhat reassuring) and cute. Good for a kid with motor delays who needs a lot of practice to master skills. But I do think the pronunciation differences and the spelling differences probably would make it less than an ideal fit for a kid who already struggles with reading, especially if they also struggle with auditory processing. lacell
I know this is an old thread but I wanted to chime in and say that we are using Nessy now and love it. Perhaps they have improved the American voice.
