LAmom
For example, would you use something like MOH or something else for history and then use Omnibus secondary for some lit/theology? I am not sure if Omnibus primary is required or not?
Half-Elven
I had this same question when we started Omni I last year. We've been using Veritas Press since 2nd grade, and so we were looking for the "history card" part in Omni I. Most of it is covered in the Primary resources, they are already heavy into history. But if you wanted a "spine" to follow, they recommend Speilvogel's Western Civilization. There are corresponding pages/chapters Omni suggests to read depending on the particular book you are on. The latest edition (8th) just came out. I just bought the 7th edition on Amazon. There are older versions as well, and the Veritas Press website has an info sheet that have corresponding pages to previous versions. Doesn't really matter what version you have...some come in two volumes, which is nice if you need to take school somewhere. This is a good and factual history book, but keep in mind, it is not from a Christian perspective. The Omnibus will give you that Christian perspective.
