yvonne
Hi, We're a ways out from college admissions, but I've started reading the college board to get an idea of what's coming. Could someone explain, in a nutshell, what are the differences between EA & ED? When I applied to college decades ago, I applied "early decision" to the college I really wanted to attend. Applying early decision back then meant that I agreed to enroll, if my application was accepted, and I agreed not to apply to any other colleges. If I did, my early decision app would be nullified. Wondering how it works today? Thanks so much!yvonne
EKS
My understanding is that Early Action is not binding, meaning that the college will let you know if you're accepted early, but you don't have to commit to going there whereas Early Decision requires that you sign something saying that if you get in, you'll go there. yvonne
Thank you so much, Kai and Margaret. How do you mean that ED can be a killer for financial aid? The college knows you're committed, so they don't offer aid?
