blue daisy
Anyone have good recipes to share? I'm trying to decrease grains/dairy and move to a more paleo diet. I love my crock pot and need some new recipes, so I'm hoping for some ideas. I'm making this today - will give a review after we eat: http://www.stockpilingmoms.com/2014/01/crockpot-chicken-with-butternut-squash-pears-and-cranberries/
Flaura
Well, this one just showed up on my Facebook feed. It looks good! http://deliciouslyorganic.net/crock-pot-chicken-fajitas-grain-free-paleo/
Angie in VA
There are a few cookbooks on Amazon.

It looks good! http://deliciouslyorganic.net/crock-pot-chicken-fajitas-grain-free-paleo/ Thanks, looks yummy! (though it will be hard to resist the cheese and sour cream!) There are a few cookbooks on Amazon. Thanks, I was just hoping to get a few new ideas without purchasing a cookbook. I'm hoping those with tried and true (and possibly kid friendly!) recipes will chime in!
Guest
Have you looked on www.allrecipes.com? Love it and it is free to use. My favorite paleo type meal is a pork roast surround with baby carrots. Add about 1/4-1/2 cup water and cook on low all day. It is one of the few things my kids will all eat. AK_Mom4
Crock pot is a great way to roast a chicken! http://www.thelittlekitchen.net/whole-chicken-in-a-slow-cooker/ We did this one - I was out of carrots and so the chicken cooked sitting on a big pile of onion chunks. It came out really tender and moist! This is one of our family's favorite pork chop recipes - it actually works with both boneless and bone-in chops, though I cook it for 6 hours on low instead of four on high http://allrecipes.com/recipe/slow-cooker-pork-chops-ii/

I hear ya, but I think I got a Paleo slow cooker Kindle book for free. A lot of those Kindle books fluctuate in price often, so maybe you'll find ont. I'm not a huge pork fan, but that sounds pretty good. "Roast" chicken in the crock pot sounds yummy!
blue daisy
Review on the recipe I posted in the OP (Chicken with Butternut Squash, Pears and Cranberries) Eh, it was just ok. The cranberries were kind of tart and the rest of the meal was pretty bland. Not sure I'll make it again. The homemade (non Paleo) applesauce I made to go with it, on the other hand, was soooo good! Aiden
http://www.eatlivegrowpaleo.com/2012/03/one-pot-crock-pot-chicken-dinner.html I've been doing this one a lot lately, with bone-in, skin-on thighs/drums/whatever is available. It's best with sweet potatoes, but you can use regular potatoes as well. For the Worcestershire sauce--many of those are not paleo. You can use one that is, or substitute coconut aminos. If you're avoiding dairy, substitute melted coconut oil for the butter, or most paleo people will use ghee. (Ghee is way too much effort for me, but I'm ok with dairy, and when I do decide not to use it, I use coconut oil instead.) Another easy one: salsa pork chops. Just put your pork chops in the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour a jar of salsa (whatever brand you prefer, or homemade) over it. Cook on high for 3-4 hours, or probably could cook on low for 6-7 hours. Also: any-sauce chicken. Put the chicken in the slow cooker and pour your favorite sauce over it--bbq, honey mustard, whatever. Cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-7 hours. This, of course, would be paleo or not, depending on the sauce you use. When doing bbq sauce, I prefer to add enough to make it really saucy, and then shred the chicken when it's done cooking for pulled bbq chicken. You probably could do the same with pork, but I haven't tried it.
