PIE!
My dd10 needs to find some more reading books. She's been drifting towards the twadle section, and though I don't mind a little junk in moderation, I would prefer she reads good writing most of the time. She can read probably at about a 6th grade level. She loves animals, especially cats. She loves fairy tales. She likes to read long series. I know she would love The Hobbit or the Chronicles of Narnia but she won't pick them up unless I force the issue. She doesn't like suggestions that come from me, because I'm mom. :001_rolleyes: Any suggestions for books with decent writing for her? I know there are plenty of websites full of reading lists, but are there any you know of that stick to fairly well-written suggestions? Then I could just point her that way and suggestions wouldn't be coming from me.
aaplank
The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom by Christopher Healy. There are a total of 3 books in this series. My kids loved them - they are very fun to read. Excellent vocabulary choices and writing style all the way through.
