Luckymama
I'm looking for a basic recipe that can be adapted for different protein sources (so with or without seafood) depending on who will be eating it. Any suggestions? I've looked at so many recipes online that I'm getting confused as to what really should be in a paella. Thanks :)
kewb
A traditional paella (with all that delicious seafood) always seems like too much work so I only order it on the rare occasion we go out to dinner. Arroz con pollo, otoh, is a staple around here. Constantly changed up to whatever I have on end. No chicken? Sure throw in some ground beef/turkey. No meat at all? Add some beans. umsami
Yes, we do arroz con pollo….and the recipe I use is this one from the Columbia Restaurant in St.Augustine. I usually just use more chicken stock instead of wine. I've also been known to sub a pack of Vigo yellow rice for the rice/saffron combo. :) I also usually don't add in asparagus tips. http://www.food.com/recipe/arroz-con-pollo-valenciana-columbia-restaurant-chicken-483926 OK…they have a recipe for paella too. Their recipes are really good. I think it's probably a good start. :) http://www.columbiarestaurant.com/recipe.asp?FeaturedItemID=
8circles
Mmmmmm, paella. Haven't made it in a while but I usually use several recipes as reference and wing it.
gardenmom5
I'd probably like it more if dh didn't use chorizo (or at least not as much.). we do skip the muscles. haven't had it in awhile.
