Math Mammoth to Saxon 5/4, when?

My daughter wants to switch to Saxon like her brother. I don't think it will last as she is my math child, and he is not. But willing to let her try. So should we finish Math Mammoth 2, or 3 before going to Saxon 5/4? 

 

I do have all of Math Mammoth as I think she will go back. ;-)

This link has the PDF placement tests for Saxon, 54 is usually used in 4th grade so I would say if she passes the K-3 test she is ready for 54.

 

Quite a few curriculum use programs such as MCP, abeka, or Singapore in grades K-3 and then switch to Saxon in 4th grade.

My friend just switched her son this year to Saxon 5/4 after he finished Math Mammoth 3 and he's doing well.

My son finished MM2B strong and was solid on his addition and subtraction facts and he jumped into Saxon 5/4. I didn't pretest him though. It just seemed like it would be an easy transition. We are at lesson 66 and I can't say I made a bad choice. He likes that he learns something new everyday and I like that he is always practicing problems from the previous lessons.

That's what I am thinking will be best. Math Mammoth 2B to Saxon 5/4. She gets math really easy, so I think she will do fine. Thank you all.
