Tani
What are some of your recommendations for Physical Science for a 9th grader? Thanks.
happygrrl
Dive ICP. You can use the lectures on disc with many physical sci. texts, which tailors the course difficulty to your liking. The disc also has an online textbook incorporated, which you can use in place of a standard textbook. I am on mobile and can't grab a link, but it should be easy to find via a web search or search here on the boards. HTH!
Mom22ns
Here is the link for DIVE. We used PH Physical Science Concepts in Action, once with DIVE and once stand alone. We did it in 8th grade, but it is a 9th grade text and DIVE ICP is geared to 9th grade as well.
elfgivas
if you're not completely wedded to the physical science idea, for our youngest two we have used grade 9 science as an intro to online classes. i posted about sheri jackson's classes in the thread on .5 science credit. if you are still looking, it might be worth a peak. hth, ann
Guest
Have you looked at Kolbe Academy? http://www.kolbe.org
foxbridgeacademy
You could do either Conceptual Physical Science (I think this is the more advanced) or Conceptual Physical Science-explorations (I think this is the H.S. version) With videos from Conceptual Academy http://conceptualacademy.com/ and additional activities/experiments from TOPS

Guest timjackson86
Here I recommended http://www.acadsoc.com for physical since, where tutors are always up to help students. Best of Luck! -Tim
kbernt
Physical Science is essentially an intro to chemistry and an intro to physics put together. Sometimes intro to earth science is thrown into the mix. So I suppose you could use any introductory chemistry and physics courses, roughly one semester each and call it a year of high school physical science??? Just another option anyway. ~Kim
AllSmiles
BJU's physical science is good. This will be what we are using this year. We had to change the first chapter because of differences in beliefs, but other than that it's looks really.
Jen the RD
My dd used Derek Owens Physical Science course. I bought the DVD version and graded her homework, tests, and labs myself. It was a great intro to physics and chemistry. DD had no problem going into biology and feels confident about taking chemistry. The labs are very simple, straightforward, and fun. He is also very quick to answer questions if they arise. HTH, Jennifer Brent
Kareni
My daughter used Paul Hewitt's Conceptual Physical Science in 9th grade. Regards, Kareni
Jane Elliot
We think Apologia's Physical Science course is great and have used it for 8th or 9th grade, depending on the student.
Erin
Have you done algebra yet? We did algebra in 8th and decided to do chemistry for 9th...
